I think I’m just gonna go with the MacBook Air. I didn’t realize the 13” pro didn’t get updated so I think I can get the most bang for my buck this way.

  2. The M2 air is a great machine

Just pulled the trigger on it. 24 gigs of ram to boot.

Including HDMI 2.1 is a bit of a joke as it should have been there in the first place. Very interested to see a set up with an OLED tv now running at 120hz.

Still hoping out that Apple delivers a 5k screen with ProMotion this year as my current 4K LG is terrible on the eyes.

Just bought a Macbook Pro 14" last week, thinking there would be a few more months before an update. I guess I'll be returning it and waiting another few weeks for this M2 incarnation.

  6. Could only gloss over that new HomePod article but I hope it will pair with the older one in stereo like the minis do

  8. Wonder if the updated computational audio will make up the difference with it losing two speakers and microphones.

  9. It won’t . The first thing I looked for, too.

might fuck around and order the new HomePod, have some apple credits on my account that would pay for a decent chunk of it

I would expect the HomePod to be discounted frequently just like the Mini currently is.

I’m glad it’s back, but this feels like almost the exact same product as before lol

I wonder if Apple will make an M2 Studio and if they do how far away it will be.

Has anything really changed other than the temperature and humidity sensor?

Hopefully this brings down the price on first gen ones since I'd rather have another one of those to finally do the stero thing.

  18. Ooo are they still available anywhere? I assumed since they were discontinued they’d be difficult to find. Would also love to do this, haha

Once they got discontinued the prices skyrocketed, hopefully with the new release they'll go back down to bargain level.

Odd move that they discontinued it in the first place. I still love my OG and can see very little improvements here (Matter being the biggest probably). I already have several HomeKit devices that do temperature and humidity

Man I’m bummed I just got a new MacBook a couple months ago lol. Also been regretting not maxing it out to 64GB. Sad!

Outside of sound quality I’ve had a disappointing experience with my 2 HomePod minis, has kinda soured me on the HomePod vision. Using it for Siri reminders is futile as the eventual reminder is incomprehensible, music playback controls by voice are shockingly laggy and clunky, and it doesn’t play very nicely with other Siri devices (e.g. ask iPhone Siri in the bedroom what the weather’s like, and she’ll respond in the living room rather than on the device).
