Haven’t been able to see anything but I wonder if there’s anything that wants me to upgrade. I’m a few months into my 13 pro max

I just can't see this mattering much to me, cause the extra half second it takes for my watch to light up isn't a detriment, but I also don't use my watch for much outside of exercise tracking, which I do a lot of. I guess that's maybe why I always find the watch upgrades so underwhelming. Might go for the SE, though.

New Airpods are worth it for the swipe the stem to change the volume feature alone.

me: rationalizes getting every new iphone because of the crazy camera
also me: continues to exclusively take pictures of my beer and various dogs

  5. black 14 pro and ultra watch for me
probably purple or gold 14 pro for kaitie and she gets my s7 watch

  6. I'd have said the same until I started using it. The half second or when you haven't even turned your wrist to the "right" angle adds up throughout a day/week/year.

Missed it during the initial presentation, but yeah...these new AirPods are a big step up.

Little hard to justify, I guess, cause I just bought some XM5's for being at home, but hey...I got a gift card with my new MBA.

48MP is only in RAW, if not its binned down to 12MP like before.

Yeah I’ll probably keep it on RAW, as I do a lot of landscape photography, and less personal, everyday stuff

I shoot in RAW more than not for outdoor photography reasons, and edit in Pixelmator Pro, so I'm ecstatic about 48MP.

I was stoked for the Watch Ultra but having now seen the presentation and the specs (it's heavy and thick) that'll be a hard pass from me. I do however wish that sapphire was standard on Apple Watch.

I usually use my Leica M10 camera for more "serious" stuff. I use the Lightroom app for phone stuff I want to look nicer, which shoots in DNG which is a raw format. Hopefully Apple gives Adobe access to 48MP mode. LR lets you shoot raw and lets you quickly use presets on any and all photos you take, it's really nice if you have that set up. I find editing raw in the base photos app...not worthwhile.

Oh yeah same, any photo I post on Insta I always run through the Lightroom phone app, as the options and usability are pretty superior

so what exactly is the advantage of eSim besides it removing a "port" on the phone? Does it suck when you go overseas and wanna use your phone?

For the watch, how much onboard storage does it have? How much music/podcasts can I put on it to listen to while not being near my phone? (I don’t have the watch)

Rolling with the 256GB Deep Purple 14 Pro, with the 'Ink' leather case.

    Deep purple on deep purple.

I think everything after the 4 (so 5, 6, 7, and SE) have 32GB. Assume it will be the same for 8, but they've never made that a huge part of the marketing. With lossless (and high-res lossless) audio in Apple Music and the new Airpods Pro, I'd hope for a bump.

Can I interest you in some new AirPods so that you can listen to Deep Purple on your Deep Purple on Deep Purple?

typing that out has me trippin on the word “deep”

Would’ve preferred the deep purple be closer to the purple end of the spectrum and farther from gray but that’s the first time I’ve ever partially considered a pro model. Looks gorgeous.

I really really want that ultra for some reason even though the SE totally suits all my needs. But I’m terrible with money so here we are

What is the next big thing that Apple will release/is investing significant resources into? My guess has to be a VR-headset/glasses. With the just stupid amount of money they’re sitting on right now, even with the increased R&D spending every year, their total profit still seems to stay the same/increase. Can’t think of another consumer tech product that Apple could revolutionize

I would not go that far at all. Garmin’s been honing their High end adventure watch features for years. I’m excited to see some of the in depth reviews come out after extensive testing of the Ultra(by YouTubers like DC Rainmaker and Chase The Summit). I’ve used Garmin for 5 years now and never once had it lose a run or activity and I’ve done hundreds. So reliable.

I’d like to know if you can upload a GPX file on the watch for your route and then it give the topo and trail map on the watch like I do with my Garmin.

I’m prime market for the Ultra. I originally had an AW2, but sold it for a Garmin Forrunner 935(now have the 945)so the battery would actually last for a whole run and other quirks I had with it. I miss some of the features the AW allowed me though for sure. I’m out for runs for 2,3,5,10,29 hours at times. (Not kidding. I Have done a 100 mile ultra last year. I have a 50 mile race on Saturday- should take 10 hours give or take). I need that shit on my wrist to be accurate, battery to last, and give me the data points I want easily.

I wonder if you can charge on the go like I can with my current Garmin. I had to charge it on the run during my 100 miler last year. Also I would hope it can upload data to Strava with ease since that’s my training log bible and favorite social APP.

I’m interested at least on the Ultra. Prob won’t get one anytime soon. I’m too TeamGarmin for now. Though the Ultra is very cool.
