it's way too useful to being able to snap things next to each other automatically then having to manually size them every time.

I will say Stage Manager at least makes more sense to me on iPad than on macOS. On the Mac they’re just reinventing the dock

I dont think I'd even have iTunes open unless I was fixing up ID3 tags. otherwise I just use Plex for music.

iPad OS updates look great but....I can't help but wonder why they just don't throw Mac OS on the iPad at this point. It seems like all the features they're adding already exist in Mac OS. Am I missing something?

They spend all this time creating a custom OS for that hardware...why would they throw that away lol. Just get a Macbook Air if you want that.

Excited to see Federico excited about iPadOS again, notably after his article last week about rediscovering macOS and all the iPadOS shortcomings. Can't wait for his review in the Fall!

It was certainly different hardware 5 years ago. In 2022, everything they have runs on the same processor architecture.

It seems like it might cost more time and money to recreate features that already exist in similar software that runs on similar hardware? But I guess it doesn't. I dunno.

The iPad is extremely popular and people love the existing UI though. as well iPad became popular because it wasn't just a desktop/laptop OS bolted onto a big touch screen thing. idk why Apple would flush that for a touch screen macbook.
