Can someone instruct me on how to upload music from my library to Apple Music? Just got a 6 month subscription for being a Verizon member

You just add the files to the Music app on a computer and it'll upload everything to the cloud so it will sync across devices.

Ahh, I had to manually sign into Apple Music on my Mac first. I thought it would automatically link that after activating the account from my phone

New MBA showed up today, earlier than expected... never played with one before, holy hell is it light. And stupid snappy with 16GB of RAM. So excited to put it through the ringer with Photoshop.

    Curious for MacBook suggestions :P.

I'm looking for a laptop that'll be good for Java, Angular and Node development (my preferred IDE is Intellij) and casual music recording and editing. Otherwise, it'd just be used for light browsing and media consumption.

I love the new 14 and 16 inch MBP models, but they are expensive (still somewhat affordable for me, though). Coming from a 120hz phone, the ProMotion display is very enticing, too. I don't want something as small as my 13 inch 2014 MBP at this point. Any thoughts on what would really suit my needs here? I just having a habit of wanting the latest and greatest, even when I might not necessarily need it..

for that type of work, literally any Mac currently on sale will do easily. I'd personally bump up the ram to 16GB but even that seems unnecessary.

    I see 2 problems here:
    - any laptop bigger than 13" starts at 2000 dollars.
    - unless you're planning to use mainly Logic for your music recording and editing, and only the built in plugins, almost nothing is running natively on these M1 macs yet, and some might not even install.

If you can get a good deal on a refurbished 16" intel MacBook Pro, that might actually be preferable. If you really want an M1, I'd recommend the 13" M1 Pro.

Thanks a lot, great points all around! I do like my 16" Intel at work quite a bit, so that's not a bad idea. The 13" is enticing, but I find it hard to write code on a small screen because I usually want a web browser open beside my IDE. That's a bummer that not many things are running on these yet.

I mean they run, just not with native performance. I am typing this on a 14" right now and let me tell you, in real world usage, the extra real estate is negligible. I am going back to a 13" (already ordered)

Debating selling my M1 iMac just because I never use it now that I'm always on my laptop. I don't even know what the market would be like for these things.

Are the more recent Intel Macs supposed to have awful battery life? I have last year's 16" model and it's lasting me maybe 3-4 hours at work. First time I've used it undocked since getting it a month or two ago

I am going to be selling my M1 iMac as it literally just collects dust on my desk. Sad because this thing is unreal.

Goddamn. I got myself some AirPods Pros because they were 70 dollars off at Target, and what a huge difference from the second gen ones I had.

download a status bar app that lets you toggle the discrete GPU off.

this is the one I used to use. If everything goes according to plan, this should double or triple your battery life if you run your mac in Integrated Only.

The one I got from work recently has awful battery life. 3-4 hours max, as well.

Got a weird thing happening with Apple Music on MacOS. I'll make changes to the metadata for a song like genre, album grouping, etc. in my library, and it saves it, but it's not syncing with my iPhone to update the changes I made. Furthermore, after a few hours, it reverts back the changes I made in Apple Music on MacOS. This has started happening it just the last few days, never had an issue before with syncing. Everything I've read so far keeps saying to try signing out of your account (on both devices) and signing back in but I really don't want to lose all my downloads and have to do that shit again lol. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what you've done to maybe fix it

Got a HomePod mini for Christmas and I’m SO impressed with this thing. For a single device its size, it has super wide frequency response. No surprise here but it blows the Echo Dot that formerly occupied that space out of the water.
