also this is just specific to my usecase, which is graphic design, where the Pro is just grossly overpowered, but I did want that screen.

Also, once more audio plugins are compatible with Apple Silicon natively, I'm sure I won't regret the extra cores.

 

Okay this is driving my OCD crazy.. in Music it shows that I have 304 artists in my library, but when I select all the songs->Get Info, it shows a different amount. I'll do this often so I can adjust the volume on every song at once. Is there a way to filter my library to figure out where the discrepancy is??

 

Is one of those showing "album artist" instead of just "artist" maybe?
I've had some split EPs in my library before where it would show like "Artist 1/Artist 2" as the album artist, but the actual artist category each of them were their own.

 

My work laptop is a late 2015 MBP, and the other day I got an email from our tech team about how they have to send me out a new computer since mine is "outdated" (tangent, I fucking love this computer, and it has held up better than any other computer I've ever owned, including zero battery life issues). Was a little excited at the prospect of getting one of the new Pros and the laptop just arrived. 2020 MBP with the stupid touchbar :( What a tease.

Yeah that seems to be it, I was hoping their was an easier way to see it side by side or something so I could compare the 2 lists but I just added the album artist tab in my view options and looked over everything to see where there were differences.

The “AirPods have been left behind” notification is now starting to get annoying because it’s going off every time I leave them behind at my apartment lol

Ended up getting the M1 Air for work. What a fantastic machine.

 

I get that notification all the time even if they’re in my pocket.

 

I did not know that was available lol. It looks like it already had “Home” on the list but it seems the address it picks up was slightly different than my apartment so I just added that one as well.

But yeah same thing as @shea, it’ll do it even when they’re in my pocket.

 

Do you have to turn find my AirPods on? Because I’ve never gotten a notification about my pros

 

Has anyone tried to use Fox Now or FoxSports on Apple TV recently? Is it just me or have the apps been completely broken for anyone else? I even updated them.

 

Ended up buying the sage gray Beats Fit Pro. Can't believe these were announced a week after the AirPods 3. These are working much better for me than the AirPods 3 did, plus I get the cool spatial audio stuff and transparency mode. The wing tips hurt my ears, so I don't really have them secured in, but they don't budge. They do hurt if I'm moving my face a certain way, but I can get used to that. Hoping the AirPods Pro go in a direction like this in the future.

Only negatives are no wireless charging and bulkier case.

 

does anyone know if it possible to have a shortcut that changes my slack status to driving when connected to CarPlay? something automatic

 

An update on the 2020 MacBook Pro I just got from work to replace my late-2015 model: It's a nice machine, and changing the touch bar to just show the expanded control strip was definitely the way to go, though I still find myself from time to time accidentally hitting the brightness buttons with my fingers, which is sort of annoying. Given how lengthy and complicated our work passwords need to be and the fact that we have to change them every 30 days, I actually love that I can unlock the machine with just the touch ID. Didn't think that would be a feature on a laptop I would enjoy as much as I have thus far. Only real complaint is that I notice I start to hear the fans of the computer when I'm not even using that many programs, even when it's sitting on my raised dock. Maybe I'm underestimating the power of Zoom, but during morning Zoom meetings, after about 5 minutes I heard the fans start to whir and was really confused at first as to what it was, because in the 6 years I had the 2015 MBP, I don't think I heard the fans come on once.

 

After roughly 2 weeks of having my new MBP I gotta say I love everything about it but my one, small, minor complaint is that I wish they would have dropped 1 of the USB-C ports for 1 USB 3.2 on here. I'm sure I'm in a very small minority there, but for business use it would really come in handy since USB-C isn't as widely adopted in the business world yet. I also am aware that these laptops aren't necessarily catered towards the business world so I'm sure it was a non-starter lol

I got a dongle because I regularly connect (the same) 3 USB-c devices at the same time and it's just so much easier to plug one thing in.

still think I shouldn't have bought this computer lol, even at my most taxing it's basically idle.

I need some advise. I have a new iPhone 13 and a couple of times a day my headphones (old Apple earbuds connected via the Apple headphone jack to lightning adapter) just disconnect from the iPhone and I have to plug them in and out again (from the lightning port, not the headphones from the adapter). Is this something that is common with the adapter or do you guys think my new phone is a dud?

I've only had it for a week and it started early so I doubt its is dirt in the lightning port.

 

That’s not normal and I’ve never had that happen to me in my 13 years of iPhone

my advice: Test with someone else’s headphones first but get it replaced for sure.
