Yeah, I have absolutely zero desire for a touch screen on a laptop and don’t get the concept at all. I’m particularly anal about fingerprints which doesn’t help.

 

I have an HP 2 in 1 that I always absolutely forget can be used as a “tablet” and has a touch screen. My 2nd grade son only uses the touch screen though when he was doing remote learning

 

It's useful if you want to whiteboard something in a meeting. My coworkers and I also have virtual happy hours where we play JackboxTV games, and some of them are drawing-based so I'll whip out a stylus for that

 

No desire for a touchscreen MacBook whatsoever

I'm looking for a (free) screen recording software for my Air. My son is doing his first presentation at school and since parents can't come in, they're doing it over Zoom. I'm not sure if they school is recording, so I want to be able to record it. Thoughts?

yeah seems like they disabled it for some reason?

apparently this app can help you out since it essentially creates a new microphone that Quicktime then can access:

Basically instead of cmd shift 5 you do this:



and then when the familiar little window pop ups ...



you select loopback audio as the mic (cmd shift 5 doesn't offer any mic options)

Probably because of what I'm trying to do. In the era of Zoom I can see how Apple would take that as a privacy concern.

 

if all else fails, you can record it with Screenflow, it will add a watermark on export but the trial is technically free.

 

Downloading Loopback seemed to work, my backup is to record it from the phone.
