I haven't watched the event yet, but I'm going to give a strong consideration to trading in the 16" Pro I bought last January in hopes that the new ones don't have the same terrible speaker popping issue.

I've got the m1 mpb from last year and it rips through ootp sims so i can't imagine how quick the new ones would be

I thought the same. Would have given the notch more value in its idea.

 

The notch is fucking great and people will grow to like it. It makes the entire 16:10 area usable as a workspace, as with the Notch the display is closer to like, 16:10.5.

basically the workspace is as big as if you hid the menu bar on the older models.

that said, wtf do FaceID you cowards.

 

Honestly if someone hates the notch they are dorks. It's more screen shut up.

NGL, I always silently judged those who did not autohide the menu bar or especially the dock. The latter triggered me hard.

 

Who the fuck autohides the dock...

menu bar adds no value to my work flow.

my partner hides neither the dock nor the menu bar and she is working on a 12" macbook.

 

Always hide the dock but never the menu bar. Not hiding the dock means a lot of wasted screen real estate.

 

Face ID with the true depth camera would probably make the top case as thick as the iPhone 13 Pros and iPad Pros - they'll probably integrate once they can make the TrueDepth camera system thinner

I wish I knew if there were plans for new AirPods Pro anytime in the somewhat near future. The new AirPods look nice, but I assume there’s no real reason to get them over the Pros?

 

Next March at the earliest I'd say. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was Q2 2022.

 

autohide dock is the only correct choice. why would you ever need it out in the open

 

the new AirPods are the easiest buy ever for me. The silicone tips were the only things holding me back from the Pros.

 

Are the AirPods 3 the same physical size as AirPods Pro? Would love to see a direct size comparison of the two.

 

People will mock this but it's so frigging hard to find a decent microfibre cloth that doesn't pill or drop fluff all over your screen that I would consider buying this if it is quality
