  1. I normally hate screen protectors. But with getting a new phone and my last phone having a ton of scratches, I decided to try one this year. This dbrand screen protector is incredibly nice. Definitely the best one I’ve used Tempered Glass Screen Protectors » dbrand

M2 pretty much confirmed at this point. Stoked to upgrade my ever ageing none work MacBook Pro to what will last me years to come.

In other news Jony Ive’s LoveFrom company finally has an online presence with LoveFrom.com. In typical Ive fashion it’s very minimalistic but the custom typeface is pretty sweet.

has anyone ever noticed flashes on Apple TV+ shows when the scenes cut? I've noticed it so far on Ted Lasso and Mythic Quest. I need to do some digging to see if its just my iPad or I can see it on TV too. Also if its downloaded or streamed.

    M1X, M2. Either way I'm game!

They'll more than likely be announced. I'm surprised it has took so long to be honest given the leaks.

For all of the issues people seem to be having with Safari 15, I do just have to say Chorus looks incredible on it haha

Is Apple TV (device) worth it? I absolutely hate most TV OS's and given our house is already Apple everywhere it can be this purchase seems a no brainer.

Can you also have it fire up when switching on the tv replacing the TVs default OS?

    yes, it's great.

There's an HDMI standard (CEC) that just does that if your TV supports it, turns on the Apple TV when you switch the TV to a certain channel / turns on your TV if you switch on your Apple TV.

just got one myself a few weeks ago after holding out for a long time. Our Samsung TV kept deleting all the apps and this most recent time wouldn’t let us redownload because of a space issue (apparently it’s a bloatware thing), so they kinda forced our hand. Still glad I went with the Apple TV though over a cheaper rival. Being able to play my music and to have airplay (albeit a bit buggy) have made it far worth it.

  18. I haven't owned a Roku in about 5 years. But I absolutely hated the one I did have back when Hannah was living in Arizona still. Maybe it's gotten better, but it would fail at basic stuff like Plex at least every other time. And I can't stand the Fire stick that Hannah's parents have. It's extremely unresponsive. I have some issues with the Apple TV, but it's literally the only way I watch anything on TV at this point and think it's by far the best TV connected device.

Is there any advantage to having a standalone streaming box like an Apple TV if you’ve already got a smart TV? I’ve never really understood why you’d buy one if your TV can already do most of the same things, especially now that a lot of TVs have AirPlay, but I’m wondering if there may be usage cases I’m missing.

Fire Stick is terrible. Easily the worst of the 3. But Roku is the most rock solid I have owned of any of them. I replaced my 3 Apple TV's with Roku 4K boxes and haven't had any issues.

  22. I see the Roku still has the remote with the tag on it that I used to throw when the entire thing would freeze pushing "play" on Plex. Haha.

Maybe cheaper Rokus are bad, but my Roku Ultra is excellent. Pricier, but worth the money. And it supports Airplay.

I can't vouch for the benefit but I have an Apple TV and I fucking love it.

  25. I refuse to put on my TV on the internet. By and large Smart TV's are privacy assholes and I don't trust them, or trust the on my network. I've also never loved the interface on the ones I've used ... and the integration with everything else (Apple Music, etc.) is just 'nicer.'
