Probably going to upgrade my MBP soon. I'm on a mid-2014 and replaced the battery last year, but it still doesn't seem to hold a charge for more than 5-6 hours. I'm guessing I should just wait and see what gets announced soon though. Mostly just need something that will run Logic smoothly if needed, but most of what I'll be using it for is browsing, Photoshop, and a few other things.

 

Favorite extension this week is xSearch: ‎xSearch for Safari

It lets you type keywords in the search bar of Safari to search specific websites.

So you can type “a thrice vinyl” and it’ll search Amazon.

I can finally bring my site search stuff I use on Alfred to the iPad/iPhone.

Like the search codes for chorus (ch) and the forum (fch)

And it works with Shortcuts, so you can make a quick search text prompt, type in the query and search all sorts of stuff. It’s very cool.



Extensions have been my favorite new thing of iOS 15 so far.

 

I’d totally do all I can to hold out to see what the next Apple Silicon chip is and what they put it in.

 

Yeah it's not a huge rush. All of my work is done on my iMac atm.

 

I am so desperate for a new machine at this point, but don’t even know what route I’ll go. Totally depends if they bring back displays … but my iMac is pretty long in the tooth now, and the image retention is starting to really get to me at the end of my day. I’m ready.

Yeah I’m really looking forward to the new M2 machines in October/November as well.

I have an M1 work MacBook Pro but would love to upgrade my old 15inch Pro.

 

Are the macbook airs expected to get an upgrade soon too? I am getting ready to buy one but wondering if I should hold out a little bit longer

 

Only Pros this year. Airs will be mid next year.

 

Is there an equivalent to Spotify's "Release Radar" on Apple Music? I'm sure this has been brought up here already so apologies...

Safari 15 on MacOS is so much worse in one specific way. I like to drag tabs around and drag them to different windows and such. It is so much worse with the new tab design, they don't flow together the same and it feels so much clunkier

 

Had an M1 MacBook Air and dug it but used it as a desktop in clamshell mode 98% of the time. Decided to trade it in and get an M1 Mac Mini and got an iPad Pro 12.9 inch as my “laptop”. Very stoked. Love the iPad life so much already.

Has anyone found a good article or YouTube video that does a good job on how to set up your iPad, apps to get, etc to really maximize using it as a main computer?

I have the pencil, magic Keyboard Apple, and a Logitech pebble mouse so I feel like I am set hardware wise….unless someone sees something I’m missing?

 

iOS 15 has been a nightmare for me. My XR is chewing through 10% of my battery an hour in standby and *everything* has a tangible, frustrating lag to it now—typing, scrolling, swiping up to go home.

If anyone here is still waiting to update, I say keep going. I’m thinking about doing a clean install and hoping 15.1 improves things.
