Got the wife a new Apple Watch SE since her Series 1 finally decided to bite the dust a few weeks ago due to battery issues, and now the SE is having separate battery issues

Am I the only one that thinks Apple should look to develop their own display panels? I would be very interested in seeing what innovation they could do there.

 

ngl it's kinda fucked that 2 companies have essentially a monopoly when it comes to manufacturing OLED panels. I agree it's not in Apple's best interest to just "let that happen".

 

100%. I mean we should have got the ProMotion display last year but Samsung reserved a large portion for their Galaxy line up.

I just think it's possibly that one edge that they need to crack across most of their line up.

 

So I don't have an Apple watch, but how accurate do y'all think blood oxygen monitoring is in smartwatches in general?

Just got the newest Galaxy watch and I'm wondering if it just discovered I inherited my dad's sleep apnea . It's dropping to 85% while I sleep and I get barely any REM or deep sleep. Pretty cool if this actually helps me figure out a problem. Might have to do a sleep study! Would explain why I'm exhausted all the damn time.

look up the STOP-BANG score. If it's high, definitely get sleep study!

my AirPod pros are like maybe 2 months old, case stopped charging so I sent it in and they said they repaired them. showed up like a week later than they promised and now noise cancellation doesn't work. so frustrated right now that I have to go through this process again.

 

Tweetbot update dropped with "Open in Tweetbot" Safari Extension. Hell yes.

 

That's awesome! I may go back to Tweetbot at some point. I switched over to the regular Twitter app at some point a few months ago and definitely like it less, but I wanted to give it a fair shot since it's been years of me using Tweetbot.

 

Double post, but oh how I hate the new Safari on macOS. The current tab being used is greyed out and never looks like it's actually the one in use?? It's been driving me insane.

 

I used to regularly check my O2 with an oximeter for respiratory disease and while I never matched my Apple watch up to it specifically, I think it’s generally in the ballpark. That said, even a medical oximeter has an error margin of like 4% and if you’re O2 meaningfully sank while awake you would probably feel it and are probably already aware of a chronic illness. The sleep use is nifty but O2 sat is largely a very stable number and I think Apple somewhat misleadingly up-sold the utility of monitoring O2 to healthy people.

Is it normal for an app I purchased 6 days ago on the iOS store to still show as a pending? It's buggy as hell and I wanted to request a refund but I can't until it processes and doesn't still say pending. I know I obviously haven't been charged yet but 6 days seems an awfully long time to process...

So for some reason my car won’t recognize my phone anymore. It’s an older car but when I’d plug in my phone it would read it as iPod and play media over the stereo. Now it tries to read it like it’s a flash drive and open folders. I don’t think it’s the update because it worked fine in the morning but when I got in the car after work it wasn’t working anymore.

 

Probably going to go get an iPhone 13 today. Having an internal debate right now between getting the 13 mini and the 13 Pro... I love the size of the mini, but that promotion display and the rumors that this might be the last mini make me think I should just go for the pro.. the struggleee

 

The ProMotion is the best thing Apple has done in quite some time.

 

The Pro is the way to go this year. It really, really is. Stunning phone.

 

A lot of stores don’t seem to have them in stock right now - production issues must be real this year
