My Advice on How to Set Up a New iPhone or iPad: Quick Start Device-to-Device Transfer

With the device to device setup it automatically created my eSim, is there any reason I should/shouldn't pop in the sim from my old phone? If I don't put it in the new one, what should I do with it? lol

Traded my 12 Pro for a 13 Pro, the macro camera and 120hz screen are unreal but not really a noticeable improvement on battery life for me.

I’ve been having a few weird bugs on iOS15 like Do Not Disturb and Dark Mode not turning on and off as scheduled, as if the phone is not recognising what the time is. I am in the minority who love the Safari search bar being on the bottom of the screen.

 

Okay so the new iPad mini is the perfect tablet. I’m in love.

Safari extension is good. Widgets on iPad is very nice.

Sooo Live Text is a wow feature.

 

I sent back my Otterbox case and went with Apple’s own silicon case for my 13 Pro. Soooo much better than the last time I had one (possibly around the iPhone 4 era). Otterbox really dropped the ball with their Aneu case this year, it feels very plasticky and I’m not a fan of the circle. Whilst the silicon case doesn’t protect the case as much I’m a huge fan of the premium finish.

The one complaint is the same as I had years ago though and that’s how easily bits of fluff stick to it. It does’t feel as bad though as before.

 

I hope they release the first patch for iOS 15 relatively soon. Safari is borderline unusable at times on my 12 mini. Mostly with the tab switcher but it’s just buggy all over.

 

adjusting to a smaller phone (13 pro) vs. 11 pro max has been more challenging than i expected but i still like this a lot

 

Anyone else have the clear case and feel like it’s a little too slippery in their hands? Not sure how I feel about it

 

So is there any reason why I should buy the airpod pros now as opposed to waiting for the next update? I thought those were gonna be updated this fall too but apparently not.

 

Yeah I regret updating to 15 so quick. Should’ve waited for 15.0.1. First time I’ve ever really felt that way too

 

15 feels soooo much better than the first 14 so far to me.

 

This makes me happy to watch.

 

The Pros will be updated next year. The normal AirPods will be updated October/November.

 

I'm sure I'll get used to it, but the extra bulk from the flat sides (on top of already being a little bigger anyhow) makes the 13 Pro Max feels so much bigger than the 11 Pro Max that my first thought after holding it was that maybe I should've gone with just the Pro. The screen is great, but I'm not sure I'll ever be convinced that this is better than the rounded sides.

 

Blah, I’m having some heat/battery issues with the new phone. Nothing seems to be fixing it, even after trying a factory reset.

 

More than just the normal setting up a new phone and it running all the things on it?

Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures

 

It feels different that it normally does after the first day or so of having it set up. I’m going to give it time of course, but it seems to start getting warm just doing simple stuff at random.
