Double check if you have a ringtone selected, if it’s a custom song maybe you need to restore the license.

 

They switched my delivery date from today to tomorrow and I am devastated.

 

Weirdly enough, this only seems to work sparingly for me. When I first tried it, it worked fine, but this morning a few of the notifications I did it on have still been in my notification centre. Not sure if that’s a bug or what

 

huh that’s strange. haven’t seen that yet, but wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a bug. multiples times i’ve had a youtube video randomly pause and spotify resume. one time i wasn’t really paying attention to the video and was like hell yeah i love this song but idk why it’s in a cooking video lol

 

Good thought but it’s set to the default (“Early Riser”). Thank you for the advice though. Weirdly, a regular alarm seems to be working fine, it’s just an issue with the Sleep schedule. I’ll probably set a normal alarm until I can figure out whether it’s a bug or if something changed in iOS 15 with how it handles the volume settings.

No idea, I thought UPS had fucked up because they had my delivery date as Thursday, but this AM it switched to Friday.

This happened to me Monday! Then it was fine again Tuesday. It’s weird since I’ve had the beta on my phone for months and never had issues. I never touched the song choice either. Weird

 

it’s no longer dismissing notifications for me either!!

 

I guess it’s gotta be a bug? Can’t imagine it’s intended to act that way

If a phone can used fully wirelessly then USB C port isn’t necessary if I read this right so apple could just accelerate the fully wireless iPhone

 

A portless iPhone doesn't solve any problem that currently exists though, and I do not want to lose my wired CarPlay or have to trust the car manufacturer to provide me with an update to wireless CarPlay.

I get it, but apple could always join up with the USB Implementers Forum again to work together and design a new USB standard, just like they already did with the creation of USB-C. No reason for it to be a proprietary cable other than to reap profits

 

You can’t argue the benefits of USB C. I complete agree with the environmental waste that would happen from all the old lightening cable products that would be useless eventually.

Ultimately they should have switched with the X.

 

we've had lightning for 8'ish years now, if we can have the same charging standard for as long across all phones it'd be a win.

as far as "using a better connector", the USB C form factor supports a bunch of different standards, I think as long as you can charge it with a USB C cable you should be well within the framework of this regulation, seeing how next generation Thunderbolt also has the same connector shape.

Now, I agree, this mandate needs to be updated over time and I don't trust the EU to be the regulatory body that does that, but I still think this is a net positive.

gold pro. So far exceedingly happy with it. The edges aren’t as sharp as last year and the weight while noticeably more makes the phone feel super premium. Love it so far.
