Apple developing new Remote for the next generation Apple TV

 

Good, their remote now is trash. I have two and both are rubbish.

 

I feel like I’ve been reading rumours of a new model for 2 years now. I’ve grown very impatient haha

 

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference is back in its all-online format

I don’t own an Apple TV that came with the current remote, but I’ve used it at a few friend’s places, and yeah, it’s not good. I’d much prefer physical buttons in place of a touch pad.

 

Besides airplay, what’s the advantage of an Apple TV over a roku or a fire stick

 

I want my darn AirPod Pro 2s!

 

I just want my Xbox 720.

 

Personally, it's always been a fit and finish thing. I always have felt like that the Roku/Fire interfaces and apps are slower and clunkier than Apple TVs.

 

My fire stick is super slow. My Roku that I have is pretty quick though. I'm not gonna say it's quite as fast the Apple TV but it I would say it's more solid than the Apple TV. I have to a restart on my Apple TV regularly for if an app isn't responding or won't update. I don't really have to do that with the Roku. Plus there is the remote comparison which lets face it. I'd rather use bone from the stone ages and smack my tv than use the apple remote.

 

yeah we have a firestick in the bedroom and i absolutely hate it, it's so slow and clunky. i have no experience with Roku, but even though appleTV is triple the cost of a firestick, i'd go appleTV every time.

 

I have one appletv that we use in the bedroom and right now I am using my PS5 for streaming in the living room. but I will absolutley be getting the next gen when it comes out to have a 2nd box.

 

Firestick is fat fucking trash do not @ me please.

While I'm at it my Android TV shuts off randomly too. It's garbage. Apple TV is very superior in many ways.

 

I’ve got three rokus at home and have zero complaints. Now they also offer airplay, so I can’t think of a reason I’d want an Apple TV over a $70 Roku ultra.

 

I have a TCL Roku TV and the AirPlay is super finicky and the apps are definitely clunkier and slower than my Apple TV. Not to mention the sheer number of apps (and games, if you’re into that) available on the App Store. Plus, like all other Apple products, if you’re in the Apple ecosystem, everything just works together so seamlessly. Nothing else really compares.

 

A Roku TV is a big difference than an actual Roku player IMHO.
