7/8 hours screen on time is what I get. General use is much different on the battery than just video. I was fairly hungover on Saturday so I got like 8 hours SOT went to bed at ~20%.

12 hours of Safari browsing sounds excellent. Also, that 17 hour figure is for playing video stored on the device. I believe streaming video would be better aligned with Safari browsing, which Apple says is 11 hours.

Anyone else hoping these rumos of a 1 TB iphone are true? My 500 gig mp3 collection would be excited.

I dropped from the 512gb iPhone back to the 256gb this gen and haven't missed the extra space at all - data plans are finally getting better here and air travel is pretty much dead in Australia atm so I don't feel like I have to carry all my music in my pocket anymore. Interesting time for Apple to consider introducing a 1tb phone given how ascendant streaming and cloud services are now, I wouldn't expect there'd be many takers but more options is always nice. Hate to think how much it will cost if it does happen though.

I mean, overall total cost of the phone might be way more but it might only still equate to a few extra bucks a month if you're doing the phone lease plan from apple or your carrier. I think with how much apple seems to be focusing on video and gaming, i think you'd have a lot of buyers/interest in a 1TB phone.

Thinking of switching phone carriers. I just switched buildings at work and it's a Verizon deadzone and AT&T seems to be the only thing that works. Anyone have any issues with their plans/coverage/pricing?

    I have an iPhone Xr.

I have had AT&T for like 18 years. Never had any issues and have lived all over the country. IL, FL, TX, and now AZ.

For some reason in the last year here in AZ I have had terrible reception. It was fine when I first moved here 3 years ago but at some point in the middle of last year just started dropping calls and would lose service entirely for hours at a time. It still happens but I'm just too lazy to switch at this point.

  16. Anybody here get the AirPods Max? Curious what people’s thoughts are. I like my pros, but my ear canals don’t like in-ear buds.

I imagine that the 120hz display is why it was compared to Android. Most flagship phones have them these days. I don't think Apple Watch does anyways?

The comparison point was the always-on feature using OLED, which the Series 5 and 6 watches have. I imagine it would make the most sense for Apple to use the technology it's already implementing (and then have the better refresh rate on the flagship phone, like the article suggests).

I have them (got them as a birthday present). I like them and they're definitely pretty intuitive with your iPhone. Noise cancellation is great.

But I very much prefer my Bose. More comfortable over the ear headphones and for some reason, they're a lot louder than my AirPods Max. I have a habit of listening to music pretty loud and even when I hit the limit, I was pretty unsatisfied with the sound in that regard.

  22. PSA: Should probably not be hitting the limit of any set of headphones volume wise for the health of your ears.

I don't have Airpods, but obsessed with the sound of my Sony XM3s, even compared to Bose QC53 IIs. That being said, the Sony's are heavy, and get hot and uncomfortable within an hour. I could wear the Bose all day long and wish I had gotten those over the Sonys. I personally think the comfort alone makes up for the difference in audio quality. They're sooo light, the foam doesn't lose its form, and you can easily forget they're on your head.

Since Airpods Max have metal in them, I imagine the heaviness could impact comfort like the Sonys, so I'd be hesitant for that reason.

I also have the AirPods Max. I love mine. I’ve used them exclusively since I’ve gotten them and have the pros. They are obviously great in the iOS ecosystem, great battery life, and leading class ANC/transparency mode. I think they are super comfortable. And the case I’m just kinda meh on.

Not sure why I don’t think I like my pros as much as my og gen 1 AirPods. I feel like I never found them as comfortable.

  25. I think I'm in the same boat. I love transparency mode on the Pros and that's why I'd like to try the Max, but the Pros have never felt super comfortable to me.

I also have chronic ear infections, which sealed IEMs seem to make worse, so I'm thinking about jumping on a pair of the Max.
