Does it finally give Mac users the option to rotate the camera? Because that’s what’s been the biggest pain in the ass for teaching over zoom

 

Do new iPhones still come with a free year of Apple TV+? I thought they did, but can't figure out how to get it . . .

 

I believe it got changed to a free 3 month trial of Apple Arcade.

 

Super fun. My laptop just randomly booted up with the "prohibitory symbol" and now it's stuck in recovery mode. Someone kill me?

am i crazy or does 'play next' and 'play later' on the apple music desktop app do the exact same thing?? the mobile app has a 'play last' option and adds music to the end of your queue, but i can't figure out how to do that on desktop.

 

I think it depends on how you started playing the music to begin with.

If you're in the "Songs" view and start playing then they do basically the same thing, though if you start building a queue using those functions then play next will do just that and play later will add them to the end of the queue.

If you start playing from Recently Added, Artists, or Albums though then it automatically adds the rest of the songs from the album to your queue, so play next always plays next and play later adds to the end of the list.

But it is confusing and the experiences are not the same between desktop and mobile, which is frustrating.

i was starting an album directly by clicking play on the album page. then i'd try to add another album to my queue with 'play later' and it would end up playing it immediately next.

so i guess instead of directly playing albums, i need to add them to the queue first. you're a life saver!

Happy to help! I should also point out that I was checking my understanding with the Windows machine I'm on () and it might even be different between iTunes on Windows and Apple Music on Mac.

 

Turns out the free year of Apple TV+ IS still a thing and it only took chats with 2 different "Advisors" and them to generate a special promo code for me to get it to work

My favorite story about the Apple car project — from before the reset heralded by the return of Doug Field — is that they actually had a concept for an Apple-designed and branded car. And they added it all up and it turned out to be so embarrassingly expensive that they hadto seriously hit the reset button. That’s the way it goes, no shame in that.

I’m quite certain that Apple has a very talented team, a division even, working their asses off on this, and might well come up with the iPhone of cars. But I’ll take all Project Titan related news with a grain of salt until we see something real.

It’s an interesting market to get in to. Government over here in the UK I think have recently announced all cars to be electric by 2030!

 

Gruber's on the money with this car thing, mass manufacturing of a car is very different to mass manufacturing of consumer electronics. Look how long Tesla's been at it and they still don't have their shit together to be able to run them off the production line in a timely and cost-optimal manner, unless Apple buys an existing car manufacturer (which is absolutely possible) they're going to be starting from a long, long way behind.

 

that’d be the iCar SE, basically an apple yaris with CarPlay standard. Obviously, I’d prefer the iCar Pro Max with the larger CarPlay screen.

 

I would love to have an AWD SUV all electric in the 35-45k range. I think if apple makes a car it’s gonna be 45k at minimum tho
