Huh I thought MKBHD was saying it doesn't go into low power mode until 2 hours of inactivity, but apple would know better than him!

Powerbeats pro seem way better for exercising than Airpods to me. The added security of wrapping around the back of your ear helps stability for people who have different sized ear canals.

I'm curious how many people have dropped an Airpod into a moving treadmill and destroyed it lol

the only downside of the powerbeats is that the charging case can be wonky sometimes. in terms of sound quality and exercising, it isn't even close. comfortability thing is subjective and i thought it'd bug me at first but half the time i forget they're even on bc i don't feel them

Some local guy tried hawking an Air Pod Max on a FB group for $800 and absolutely got murdered on it by everyone. Was quite the sight to see/read.

In the gym i have had no issues with AirPods or AirPods Pro. However, when out an actual run i have had issues with AirPods Pro sometimes coming out when trying to skip song etc.

I've spent the last 2-3 hours editing and downloading app icons to match the Big Sur design language and I like this update SO much more now. The consistency is so satisfying.

Catching up on this thread as I finally took the plunge and entered the Apple world by getting a 2019 16" Macbook Pro with Catalina 10.5.7 installed. Unfortunately, the early excitement went away as i'm suddenly struggling with the sound having some weird saturation or crackling going on. I noticed right away as I use an EQ in VLC, and it suddenly started sounding bad and the levels going in the red. Even when I turn that off, and use other apps like YouTube or Spotify, everything now sounds harsh on the ears.

I'm new to Apple, and I can't lie, I'm really bummed considering the price... After doing some research, this issue seems to be much more common than I expected. I tried a few fixes, but am going to look for more later. Otherwise, as it's Sunday, I'll call the customer support tomorrow and see what can be done. I received the laptop last Monday, so the return policy could still apply if they accept it I guess... uh... I truly hope.

Ahhhhhh I was so looking forward to the holidays so I could take advantage of my first "fancy" computer, and finally take the time to do ableton, photoshop, and some writing stuff I currently have on my plate. It'd be a shame if I had to go back to my slow and buggy old laptop for all this in the meantime, but... yeah.

Shouldn’t that be a fairly easy refund / warranty case?

  13. I think so? I hope it being a refurbished one, bought directly from their store though, won't be a problem for them.

makes no difference as far as I know, I am sure they'll help you out in no time. I had a 16" at the beginning of this year and had no issues so there's hope! haha

Yeah it being refurbished should apply the same as far as any issue you might have out of box. Also it should be covered under their holiday return time as well so there really shouldn't be any issue for you getting a new one and returning the current.
Wish you the best of luck though!

I ordered a case off Amazon but it won’t get here til Thursday. Sunday until then is a constant risk I’m not feeling confident about for that very reason

Well given cars aren’t like iPhones that can launch soon after announcements. It wouldn’t surprise me to see a prototype to get public reaction before a 2022 - 2024 release. Who knows but it has picked up steam again.
