i was going to say, not my thing but i know there are countless bluetooth over ear headphones that go for much more than 550

With that said, I’m on the market for new over ears. What do you all use?

No way being $200 more than the Sony 10000XM4’s is justifiable. This is crazy.

these are one of the pairs I was eyeing up! Im coming off an old pair of Bose over ears that just never had the umpf that I wanted out of over ears.

I have and adore the Bose 700's.

(I honestly just preferred the fit versus the Sonys when I tried them on, way back at the beginning of 2020 when that was a thing which made sense to do at a Best Buy.)

They're also extremely heavy compared to the Bose and Sony's they will be mostly competing with. I'm sure they will sound terrific, but big swing and miss on this one for me.

Bose QC35 II are fantastic for noise cancellation and extremely comfortable. Got my fiance a set for $100 off on black friday. I have Bose Soundlink 2 around ear headphones which are pretty similar, but no noise cancellation. That's $100 less, so it's worth it if you don't care about noise cancellation

    EDIT

Ah, I see you're not a big fan of your current Bose. Not sure how they compare tbh

sennheiser has better products for half the price and you can use them for any devices lol

Don’t care for the design, and I’ll never pay $700 (that’s probably what these will cost here) for headphones, so I’m just going to go ahead and forget these exist lol

Disappointed by both the design and the price. I do love my AirPod Pros (Though they were also too expensive, I get my money's worth out of them), but will be looking for cheaper wireless over ears.

Yeah 550 is a lot of money but there are definitely headphones that cost more. The audio quality will obviously have to be very good on these to justify that price. Build quality seems high end with the stainless steel vs the plastic you'll get on the Bose/Sony sets. I'm just not sure who these are supposed to cater to. If they don't have audiophile level sound and that's what you're looking for in a pair of cans, the Sony XM4s or Bose 700s are a much better option for an average consumer.

  16. I have a pair of Sony WH1000XM3s that I literally never wear anymore because of how good AirPod Pros are. I just ... stopped even wanting or caring about over the ear headphones anymore. So light, so good.

Was looking forward to these but I could neeever justify $550 for headphones

I will continue to dunk on the headphones, but the song on the commercial is pretty rad.

  20. I wear my AirPods Pro for 97% of all music listening that isn't vinyl. But I like my XM4s for when I want/need to write cuz that type of feeling really helps me focus on the task on hand haha

I’d even go as far as saying — even with all the drawbacks — I prefer my AirPods over my AirPod pros because they feel like less of a „thing“.

sorry i’m weird. I lost my left AirPod pro on my way to the grocery store some months ago and I have set to replace them because they just never quite hit the spot for me. (Obv they’re objectively super good!)

I'd be in the same camp except mine have had that static issue several times. I've returned them to apple 3 times now and each new pair I get eventually does the weird static sound. But overall sound + convince, I keep coming back to them.

i know ear doctors say earbuds were just about the worst possible things for your ears. what is their stance on air pods/power beats? did apple do anything to make it better on your long term hearing health?
