New MacBook Air really has my attention now

 

Bought a USB to USBC Converter that suuuper doesn't work for my magsafe lol

 

The very little differences between the Air and 13inch Pro is a weird one but I suspect that will change with next years models. It was what I expected for an introduction to the M1 chip which looks really promising and I can't wait to make the jump next year when the 16inch Pro gets announced.

 

pro vs air has

brighter screen
better speakers
better microphone
bigger battery
active cooling
touch bar

I'd call that fairly substantial. but yeah I am mad it's not 14"

 

Bought an air last week so I’m just gonna exchange it for the new one next week lol

I broke my 2020 MBP this weekend (liquid damage) and today found out the repair is $1300. Had to give serious thought to whether it made more sense to just order one of the new ones but decided to fix it because without benchmarks it would be a bit of a gamble. Already kind of regretting it though

Got my wife the 512 8-core air with 16GB RAM. STOKED to set it up!

Just got the leather case for my 12 Pro. This thing is sharp.

 

Yep it’s awesome, now I just wish they’d release one in pink citrus like they have for the leather sleeve

 

Anyone's Max ship yet? Mine is still showing as "Preparing to Ship" but still due to get it Friday.

 

Ordered a mini and followed the advice quoted above and it lead to seeing its in transit.

 

Benchmarks for the M1 look nuts.

 

Those M1 benchmarks are wild. The Air is already more powerful than a high-end 16inch Intel machine!

not saying this thing isn’t an absurdly powerful beast.

 

Very interested to see the 16” MBP M1 to see if Apple will position it to be a different configuration. For instance more RAM potential, more ports? If I got any of these it would be that potentially, though the Mac mini seems very good.

 

I want it so bad but I need to sell my current MBP first...
