Apple stores near me re-opened, could get the Apple Watch 6 today, but not sure it's worth the upgrade from the 4. Can't decide lol

 

I have WaterMinder but only for the widget. I use a shortcut to log and track it.

 

Is Apple still giving free Apple TV+ trials for new products and do they apply to people who have gotten them in the past?

My fiance accidentally activated her trial from her XR, we've never used it, and it expires next month woops

 

I bought a MacBook Pro last month and got a free year trial for Apple TV

What do people do when they need a laptop repair? Sounds like I’m looking at 5-7 days for a butterfly keyboard replacement/repair. Can’t be out of commission that long.

 

So in my notes app I have a bi weekly budget written out. It’s basically just:

Paycheck: X Dollars
Rent: X Dollars
Cell: X Dollars

is there an app that can help you plan out how you’ll use your next paycheck better than my current note system?

 

Ended up getting the 6. Enjoying it so far. Like the always-on display.

 

I use Spender, but it’s very manual. A recent update also started rounding every entry to the nearest dollar, which I’m not a fan of.

 

I used to love Mint back in the day but I haven’t really found a solid all around budgeting app that works on iPhone/iPad/Mac that I like yet. Would also love some input if anyone has an app that they love.

 

Banktivity has been the one I’ve been using. Took some time to organize it, but I’ve used it for over two years now to do family and businesses finances.

I use Pennies throughout the week to keep track of basic budget stuff, it’d not automatic, but it gives me a general idea of what we spend on food and family purchases to stay on track.

I’ve been meaning to look at the app Copilot which I saw a good review about.

 

Use EveryDollar for the last couple years. Free and works great for me. I don’t link it to my bank account or anything. But for budgeting and saving money I think it’s great. Paid off a shit ton of debt using it and not letting myself spend past my budget.

 

My iOS 14 Home Screen

I wrote up a blog post about my iOS 14 home screen setup and apps because I had way too much time on my hands today after cleaning.

Also after three days of using Soor as an Apple Music replacement, I'm more and more sold on it. I really appreciate the Last.fm scrobbing, but I also like that it's customizable to be just my music. I never used the For You, or Browse, or Radio sections of the official app, so this is really nice so far. Probably going to keep using it for a while and see if any issues show up. (Also, they updated the app so that the Now Playing widget can launch the official Music app now if you want the widget but don't wanna use the app to play music. Kinda cool.)

 

Can I use Soor if I have an Apple Music subscription?

 

Yes. That’s the only way it works I think.

 

Does anyone use the magic mix in Soor?
I have been trying to get it to work but it can't find any songs... it seems like a great feature.

 

I looked at it but haven’t tried it yet.

So is there any slight chance that leaked reports are wrong and the iPhone 12 could end up getting a 120hz display? Haven't really followed iPhone leaks in the past, but I know Android leaks tend to be pretty accurate when only a month or so away.

That's one of my biggest decision points between an iPhone and the S20 FE that just came out.. I could get the 5G model for $450 even with a cracked-screen trade-in of a nearly 4 year old device. That's tempting when phones are $1k+ lol

Rumours point to no 120hz. The only model that has a chance now is the 12 Pro Max which also seems unlikely. The major issue seems to be with the battery they’ve gone with which wasn’t up to the task. 2021 points to 120hz unfortunately and I can’t say I’m not disappointed as well.
