This new ad is really well done, but oof, $299 for that keyboard.

from what i see there's nothing that makes me want to run out and upgrade my existing 12.9" pro - a better camera on an ipad has never really been a huge selling point for me, for my purposes i'll probably be good with this machine for the next 2-3 cycles of releases. my only bummer would be if the new magic keyboard/trackpad functionality is exclusive to this new ipad which from the looks of it, it is.

  4. which Pro do you have? if it's last year's the keyboard is compatible with it

i have the 12.9" first run of pro models - got it Jan '19

  6. Glad that keyboard works with the previous iPad Pro. It looks incredible.

I have no clue how the 13” MacBook Pro still has the butterfly keyboard. Glad the Air got the new keyboard and is now at $999.

I’ve never understood the appeal of apple’s iPad keyboard but this one looks really cool

i think the appeal is certainly there if you want your ipad to be a laptop replacement when needed. if i know i'm going to be posting a lot (like say while watching some basketball (rip basketball)) i'll probably put it in the keyboard case so its just a more fluent process, or if i use it to occasionally catch up on work emails. if you're just using it as a tablet and nothing more, sure the keyboard probably doesnt make sense for you.

  9. Totally excited for this.

Excited about the keyboard, even if the price dampens my enthusiasm a bit, and interested in the new macbook air, even though my current one is only a year old.

Little ticked off that so little attention gets paid to the 1st and 2nd gen iPad Pro owners. Our devices are more capable than the current iPad Air and iPad models, yet those get fancy new trackpad keyboards from Logitech are just for the new ones, and I'm left with the Logitech Slim Combo (which is still great btw). The plastic corners started breaking and Logitech refuses to let me purchase a new case (just the case with hinge, not the keyboard), and it's not worth $150 today IMHO. I only need a new shell as the keyboard works well. Not pinning this on Apple because I don't expect them to support older hardware forever, but it'd be nice if accessory makers kept older generations in mind, especially considering the current Air is the same dimensions as the old 10.5 Pro. Pic attached of my current case. Thankful for 3D pens LOL.

Had to go car shopping today after my car got totaled a couple weeks ago in a nasty accident, but we got a 2018 Hyundai Tucson with CarPlay in it and I am SO EXCITED HOW DID I LIVE WITHOUT THIS

Yeah very little to warrant upgrading if you have the 2018 version. Me and my gf will also be skipping this year.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

I’m really hoping a 14” MacBook Pro comes out similar to the newer 16” model. Pretty sure I would upgrade right away.

Finally bought a new MacBook Pro. Working from home indefinitely, so I finally caved on a trade-in and upgrade.

  19. Definitely waiting for the 14" to get a laptop for my partner. She wants to get one sooner than later but the 16" is just a little too massive. Let's hope it'll be revealed in June?

Same. Then again, I was looking at the benchmarks on the new Air this morning and it's a substantial upgrade over my early 2015 pro. I can get one maxed out for around $1700. I'm thinking if the 14" doesn't have much more to offer than the screen size, I might just stick with the Air. If they can fit a discrete GPU inside that thing though, I'm all in.

  21. Definitely. I would prefer the air based on the size and weight, but my partner will be using the laptop a lot too and she's starting to do some heavier photo editing, so we're going to try to go for the pro, if it comes out anytime soon! Really glad to see that you can get a maxed out Air running at decent speeds now though!

I got the 2018 Air last year and while I love it, have wished it could handle a little more, which the 2020 looks to solve. I'm just worried about spending money right now given everything going on. My job isn't affected but I still worry.

Working from home on my 2016 MBP makes me realize just how shitty this keyboard is. At work I use this:

And it's a dream. Gonna have to take my whole damn setup and bring it home.

  24. I went to my work and stole my magic keyboard and mouse from work too. I don't mind the butterfly keyboard too much, but it definitely doesn't come close to other keyboards. I would also like to not break the butterfly keyboard right now :crylaugh:

has anyone jumped on board with aftermarket ear tips for the airpods pro? i see they're out now with the "memory foam" ones and want to know how they are.

also, has anyone found a cheap case that they like for them? i got one of the cheap silicone ones off of amazon and it was decent for a few months and finally stretched out and is unusable.
