Thinking of switching back to RSS for news. Been using Apple News for the last few months to keep up with my sites but over the last couple of weeks the main page has been pushing Fox News, New York Post, Fox Business, Daily Caller, etc even though I have them blocked as sources in the app.

 

Slack is such a hog.

Agreed. The Brydge just feels and looks soooo nice, and has the best tactile feel of all of the keyboard offerings imo. $199/229 is definitely steep, but I reckon I understand given the added cost of engineering something like this. Truth be told, I have no choice but to wait a bit. They are only launching these in Space Grey and I have the Silver iPad! Waiting this out will probably be the wise decision either way.

The Apple News algorithm is legitimately terrible, such a disappointment

 

Just left the Apple store. AirPods wouldn’t seal properly for the past week or so, they hooked me up with a fresh set. Seems like a relatively common problem, but always relieved when it replicates in the presence of others. Nothing worse than scheduling, waiting until an hour past your appointment, and then everything all of a sudden works fine.

 

It reminds me of the early days of the Apple Music algorithm, where listening to one country song would turn your next Favorites Mix into a Kenny Chesney greatest hits album.

 

MacBook Air is the prefect machine for what I need especially since it has a Retina display. really loving this thing as my main writing machine.

the last laptop I owned was a 2017 13 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. The main reason I got that machine then was because the MacBook Air was still in the non-retina era and the MacBook specs didn't meet my needs. I never used the Touch Bar and the keyboard was average at best but I got it because it had the main things I wanted: Retina display touch id and a bigger track pad. I eventually sold that machine last year. This 2019 MacBook Air hits every check mark I want in a machine. Light portable fast with the excellent display and security I expect and desire from apple. This one has the third generation butterfly keyboard and it feels somewhere between the second gen that the 2017 MacBook Pro has and the new keyboard the 16" Pro has (the 16" keyboard is the best keyboard and I wonder if Apple will be able to put that keyboard on an air and keep the thinness it wants).

I always said once Apple gave the Air a Retina display it would become the most popular laptop the company sells and I've been proven correct. Best machine I've own since the 2015 MacBook Pro.

that's the goal - as much as I love my iPad Pro it's tough for me to focus and write on that thing. and I love my desktop iMac but I need to be able to move around and change locations to spark my writing haha

 

also if owned apple stock then you absolutely loved today - could be a $400 a share company by this time next year if not earlier

What's the opinion on the Apple Silicone cases? I had a leather case for my X and I really like it but I haven't decided to what to get for my 11 pro

 

leather is always better

 

i actually like the clear case way more than my old X leather one

 

I was looking into that as well but I saw a lot of comments about how slippery it is. Has that been an issue for you at all?

 

I’ve owned a leather case for every iPhone since they started the cases - my wife’s used the silicone ones.

The one Leather Case has always lasted me until I upgrade again.

My wife ends up buying multiple cases as the Silicone starts to fall apart and gets pretty grubby.

 

oh yeah I like the clear case too - that's also better than silicone

the only thing silicone has going for it is that it has a lot more unique colors

 

nah. i saw the same stuff about leather cases before i got that too. maybe noticeable for a few days but it goes away pretty quick.

 

Once the cases get coated with oil from your hands, they are grippy. My issue with the silicone case is they just get gross feeling/looking after your oils coat them.

 

This year will be the year I upgrade my 2015 15” MacBook Pro.
