so the difference was that with AirPower you were supposed to be able to just put it down anywhere on the mat and have it charge, whereas with other chargers your phone (or whatever) has to be in a certain spot for it to charge.

 

There was no clear path to a Plus/Pro version.

 

They were trying to design it so that no matter how you sat the device on the pad, it would charge. They had coils stacked on each other and it was overheating. These other companies, even Nomad, have specific areas where you have to sit the device because they only have two or three coils max. AirPower had like 15 coils I believe. Heat was the issue they couldn’t solve but they didn’t want to compromise on the design and I get it.

Trying my Airpods Pro at the gym, I felt like I was running on a cloud because I couldn't hear my own steps.

 

Is there a way to change what the short press does? I only saw a way to change the long press between Siri and Noise Cancellation.

 

Unfortunately not for now. I was thinking about this though. They should make the shorter presses customizable and give the user a volume option. Something like one short press for volume up, two short presses for volume down.

I liked having the right side as skip song and the left side as play/pause.

 

I am really impressed with these AirPods. The noise cancelling for earbuds is excellent.

 

I might be the only one that didn't have an issue with the tapping of the stem to control play/pause/tracks.

 

after reading here, AirPod Pros will be mine this week.

Unfortunately, I am having a lot of pain wearing the Airpods Pro. I went through several wireless earbuds before discovering Airpods, and all of those other models (Jaybirds, Bose, etc...) gave me the same pain as these. Pretty bummed that these aren’t going to work out for me. I love the sound of Airpods Pro, but I’ll have to stick with the standard ones. Sucks having odd-shaped ears.

 

tv plus launches tomorrow, right? still haven’t had any word on getting the year free with a hardware purchase....

Well this was a weird day for me as an Apple fan. Having to return the Airpods Pro was a crappy feeling. I think today was the first time I've ever had to return an Apple product at all. I don't blame Apple for anything though. Earbuds are a tough business to get right, and not everyone's ears are the same. I'll be sticking with regular Airpods and can't wait to see future improvements to those. I did have my eye on the Beats Solo Pros though... I was surprised with how great they sounded, especially since the last time I put Beats on my head were before Apple bought the company. Much better experience and I really want the H1 with ANC capability. We'll see.

 

Yup, just accepted my free year. Super easy, no issues.

 

When I picked up my AirPod pros the Apple guy said there is a batch out there that the charging cable won’t work on. Solution is to update AirPods firmware.

I didn’t know where else to post about it but The Morning Show is so sick.

 

Man that sucks you have to return them, I’ve been really liking mine. It’s super weird to me that anyone would find the old plastic ones more comfortable than the soft tips. You must have some weird ass ears haha.
