I’ll be honest with you, I read your post wrong. I thought you were saying you were bummed that they didn’t come in different colours and didn’t have silicone tips lol my bad

 

I'd love to see some hands-on demo videos and whatnot, but unless they are under embargo for a day or two, it looks like we may not get that?

 

My Airpods are gross in places I don't even know how it's even possible ear wax got in.

 

I've always had trouble keeping wax from eventually getting behind the mesh on the inside of the AirPod. Even with me keeping them clean after every workout and such. Hopefully, this new design with the tip will keep that from happening.

 

Wasn’t about the older AirPods but I’m all over these. These should stay in my ear with the new design.

The 16" MacBook Pro is definitely still on the table for this week. Back in March they did product releases on three consecutive days.

Following the announcement of AirPods Pro earlier today, Apple also released iOS, iPadOS, audioOS, and tvOS 13.2. Among various features (which we’ve detailed in a separate story here), one of the key improvements in this suite of software updates is extended flexibility of the HomePod’s music playback abilities.

In fact, by updating to the latest version of Apple’s software, you’ll gain a variety of new audio-related functionalities for HomePod, ranging from the ability to wave an iPhone atop the speaker to hand off audio to brand new integrations with the Shortcuts app as well as HomeKit scenes and automations. In this post, I’m going to go over all the different ways you can control audio playback on Apple’s Siri-integrated speaker, explain new shortcuts that can be built with these features, and share some first impressions based on my initial tests with today’s changes. We’re going to cover HomePod’s other new functionalities such as multi-user support and ambient sounds later this week. Let’s dive in.

Just trying to talk myself into it

 

The amount of tech Apple appears to have crammed into the AirPods Pro is quite phenomenal, still sceptical about whether they’ll actually fit in my ears though.

Also, looks like the decision not to make other colours is pretty much a branding/marketing decision at this point, the white AirPod stem is instantly recognisable now ala the old white iPod buds. Makes sense not to dilute that by throwing in other colour options.

 

I get why some products need a staged keynote/reveal/launch, like the iPhone for example, but I find the surprise product releases equally, if not more fascinating.

 

Looks like the AirPods Pro I ordered are deliberately being held up by the courier company so they don’t deliver before the 31st in Australia (supposed to release on the 30th) so as not to beat the street date in the Northern Hemisphere. Bummed since I’m home all day tomorrow but going out of town on the 31st for the weekend and, like, they’re just *sitting* there, can I please just pick them up? I won’t tell anyone I swear.

 

unless they need a software update to properly function, holding back hardware is honestly hilarious.

Random question and not sure if anybody here has this same issue:
When my fiancee and I send screenshots, every few we send back and fourth to each other sends in extremely low quality. We both typically send pictures in Messages using the Photos app in Messages. This isn't an issue with normal pictures but just screenshots being sent, and I can't seem to recreate it at will.
Low Quality Image Mode is turned off for both of us, we both use iCloud Photo Library and Optimize Phone Storage (although, this isn't an issue for any videos or pictures other than screenshots.)
I don't have a clue why this happens and it's not really an issue, but we won't know until the other receives the message and it turns out to be super low quality, almost like a thumbnail, but looks fine on the senders end. It seems like it has to be something with the LTE/Wifi connection on the receivers end, but it just happened and we are both on good wifi (me at home, her at work) so it's just really weird.
Again, not really a big issue just kind of strange and can't seem to figure out why but maybe I'm overlooking a reason at least why it might be happening?

 

I woulda guessed low quality image mode or storage space issues.

 

Definitely my first two things, but doesn't seem to be the reason for either of us. Super strange that's it's only between us and nobody else, too.
