I've been an Apple user for almost 20 years now but I think 2019 is like stupid bonkers good. probably 2nd best year they've had since releasing the OG iPhone. Just top of their game level stuff.

I know it’s only been a couple of days and the phone is still brand new but the battery life is amazing. My XS Max would always be around 50-60 percent coming home from work because my phone constantly searches for reception in my building. Add my use from during the day and I knew I’d need to charge as soon as I got home. But now my pro max stays around 80. I didn’t charge it at all yesterday and that included me watching videos at the gym and my time at work.

Almost a week of using my 11 Pro and I’m so happy with it, the battery alone was worth the upgrade. I think I was wrong on Apple Arcade too, there’s more than enough quality content to justify the monthly price.

I know people love to slam Tim Cook’s Apple for a lack of ‘innovation’ (which is the most overused word in modern business) but I’d much rather quality, user-friendly software and hardware that makes meaningful improvements to how we use our devices year on year and a strong suite of services than rushing to roll out some hokey folding phone that doesn’t work and is cost prohibitive years before the thing will ever be commercially viable for the majority of users. Apple have worked out that you don’t have to be first, you just have to be best and I’m perfectly cool with that, even if the majority of ‘analysts’ aren’t.

 

If only they'd release an all new iMac and AppleTV now...

Finally on iPad OS and so far I am liking it quite a bit! Avoided the betas, so this is my first time really giving it a shot. Not sure if it really changes how I use my iPad Pro (my main computing device), but really shows Apple is thinking about the iPad in a new way.

 

Best part of iPadOS is getting the godforsaken volume icon out of the way. Holy hell cant believe that took so long.

also, I wish the dark mode used more grays rather than straight black, but other than that, update is great

 

Anyone know of a shortcut, maybe literally using the Shortcuts app, that will download my entire music library at one time? I hate this having to download albums one-by-one thing I've always been doing.

I’m using a Nomad Base Station and love it. Got a good deal on it.

 

Is it fast charging? I have a belkin valet station I got from the Apple store a few years that I love but doesn’t have fast charging

 

It is, yeah. 3 coils that can charge at 7.5W each. I use it to charge my phone, watch and airpods each night at the same time. Ir is not cheap, however, but a great all-encompassing solution.
