I do this every day and it usually takes me like ten seconds to realize why it's not unlocking lol

Weird iCloud Music Library things happening today. I officially ran out of space on my phone so I went to remove the downloads for some music (this has happened a few times before), but before I could actually do anything, my phone crashed and signed me out of my Apple account automatically. I tried signing back in and kept getting an error message, so I restarted my phone, upon which I was automatically signed back into my Apple account.

However, it won't let me re-enable iCloud Music Library to access everything I had saved via Apple Music. In fact, the only music left on my phone are the songs that I had purchased prior to getting Apple Music that were also downloaded to my phone. There's a bunch of music that I purchased but didn't have downloaded which won't show up on my phone.

I opened iTunes on my laptop and all the music is there, but I can't figure out how to resync my phone. I've tried re-enabling iCloud Music Library a few times and keep getting error messages.

    Any ideas?

Upgraded from the 6S Plus to the 8 Plus today (wife from 7 to 8) and switched to T-Mobile with their new military deal... saving $130 coming from Sprint (I know, I know... that will probably fall through anyways).

Begrudgingly had to re-download Google Maps today. I love the look of Apple Maps but I moved back in October to a new state & city, so still learning my way around.

Apple Maps still doesn’t have our subdivision beyond the entry gate, and several times now and it still appears to have trouble with locations that are near water - which is pretty much every destination in SW FL. Today we were navigating to a restaurant and we ended up on the wrong side of the water - Apple suggested we park and walk.

Same goes for shopping centers, Apple Maps will get you to the right plaza, but then you have to drive around aimlessly looking for the store if its a big shopping center, and you might not even be on the right side.

My favorite is when it tells me the quickest way to a nearby shopping center is to drive across the active runway at Page Field. Sure that would go over well. :eh:

Are there any drawbacks or hidden costs with the military deal? My parents always complain about how much they hate how expensive Verizon is. I have T-Mobile and have been happy with my service and suggested they switch because of this.

Everything price wise is attached to what our bill is quoted to be, so no hidden fees/taxes/what not so we know what it'll be monthly which is nice. I looked into it quite a bit and really couldn't find anything of a drawback, so just went ahead and went with them. With Netflix included that's another $13 a month we don't have to spend, so between that and Sprint's service for three lines we were paying $250ish, now for Netflix Premium and the three lines it's $113.

  8. Anyone listen to the ATP podcast?

The last episode may be the one where I finally say goodbye. Anyone else having issues listening to three rich white dudes and some of the stuff they complain about while praising other shitty things? The Elon Musk stuff is almost too much after the fit thrown over a keyboard.

You know, I thought I was the only one starting to feel this way. I haven't listened to the episode from today, but I stopped prioritizing it a while ago and I skip through a lot more sections now.

  10. Today’s episode got me really angry. I’m still listening to it at the moment but it’s been boiling up all year. The complaints and whining compared with today really took me over the top. The keyboard and Apple is ruined stuff was already annoying, but man, arrrrggggg

I might not even want to listen to today's then haha. Sometimes I just want to yell at them, "WELL GOOD FOR YOU FOR BEING ABLE TO AFFORD ALL THESE THINGS." Mostly because how much money they spend on things seems to come up a lot.

  12. It’s gotten to a new level lately too. I can only take so much “well I bought this Tesla and this electric bike but bought another for my wife and kept another for the beach house and my new 4K camera lens and this 40k car and maybe need a new one” and then listening to an hour about how a keyboard you don’t even own fails and no one working so Apple likes computers. It’s making me mad.

Exactly. I thought maybe it was amplified for me since I'm making like pennies from freelance work right now, so I'm glad to know it's been bothering someone else.

It gets real bad around new iPhone time. Everyone rushes in to talk about their new device and I’m just like, that’ll be me in two years! Okay maybe three years? Wait the iPhone X is how much...?

  17. I feel very privileged I can afford what I can, but man, my friends and people I see on Twitter make me feel like all those songs singing about how consumerism is built to make you feel shitty? Yeah like that. Haha.

  18. Speaking of which everyone should upgrade their accounts on the website! $25 a year for no ads and dark mode is awesome!

I actually dropped it out of my rotation kind of unknowingly now that you mention it. Used to be a weekly listener even though a lot of the more dev stuff they talked about wasn’t for me but yeah, the other the top complaining was beginning to rub me the wrong way. Every week just felt like a pile-on. I was also listening to WAY too many tech podcast so now I just stick with Connected and a few others depending on the topics, I like the banter between Myke and Viticci on Connected.

Plus the keyboard isn’t even that bad - I have had a touch bar for almost a year and no issues

Are airpods really worth the upgrade over the regular earbuds.

I understand the main attraction is that they are wireless. But for those of you that have them, is it really worth the price just to go wireless. Or do other features make the airpods worth it?

@Jason Tate Skipped through most of ATP this morning. I maybe listened to like 20-30 minutes of it hah. I think it is time to unsubscribe from that one. Not like I don't listen to 3792 other podcasts anyway.

I just bought them because I decided to reward myself for getting a raise at work and I would say they are absolutely awesome, but if you're not looking for wireless they're not necessary or worth the upgrade. I also really like the fit of EarPods so they're nice to me.

There was maybe a 2 week run where I got my EarPods ripped out of my ears by snagging the cable on something every single day (curse the overcrowded NYC subways). I snapped and impulse bought a pair one day and haven’t looked back. The wireless capability is really the biggest draw and that was enough for me. I think they also do sound crisper.

The fact I can go for a run with the airpods and apple watch without adding any extra gear like a phone, armband, and headphone chord is a real game changer. Just going for a walk or cleaning the house with them is fantastic. They get good range from your device so you don't need it on your person. Airpods were my favorite purchase of 2017.
