Left hidden dock here!

Does anyone actually use the app launcher? Launch pad? I forget what it’s called. I just spotlight (keyboard shortcut) everything. Even stuff in my dock.

 

For the most part I just use the dock - but yeah a big launch pad fan - especially with the pinch in gesture. But again, that could be because I used Ubuntu before going to Mac.

 

I assume youre using the trackpad? I’m just about exclusively mouse these days

 

My 5S has crapped out on me so I just went to the store and fuck me are phones expensive now. I'm clearly super out of touch but settled with a 6 bc it's all I could afford

 

Still a good phone man. That's the only reason I haven't upgraded yet either. On my 4th year with the 6.

 

update: plugged phone in, charged to 80% just fine, then roughly 1% every 15 minutes until 88%, when it stopped charging entirely. rad!

EDIT: also can't update or download literally anything. also rad!

 

Phones have always been expensive - the carriers just tricked us for years into thinking they were only worth $100-$200

Finally purchased Airpods today. Can't wait to use them more, but man I would've loved to have these in college.

 

“Downgraded” this weekend from the iPad Pro 12.9” to the iPad Pro 10.5” - miss the huge screen, but not the bulk. This seems to be the sweet spot for large enough screen, but small and light enough to use comfortably for reading too.

Thought about going back to the 12” MacBook or 13” MacBook Pro as well, but just overkill for my needs these days. 99.9% of the things I do I can do on an iPad.

 

Apple's market cap has increased by $100bn in 5 days. Starbucks total market cap is $80bn. NUTS.

Battery life on the 10.5” Pro is unreal. Was at 92% when I unboxed it on Saturday night. Haven’t charged it yet and used it the rest of the night, all day Sunday and now today after work and I’m sitting at 36%.

Honestly wish they would just commit to landscape orientation for the iPad Pro at this point - get rid of the home button and go edge to edge horizontally and shrink the bezels even more on the top and bottom. You’d have a notch at the top for Face ID. Most video aspect ratios would mean the notch area would be black anyway for full screen video.

 

Hoping this is the case whenever they get a refresh. I got the 2018 iPad a month ago and love it but I'm already clamoring for a Pro

 

Holy shit how did I not get AirPods sooner? I can’t believe how comfortable they are, it’s crazy. I loved my wired wireless bose ones and were so comfortable, but they went through the wash. I didn’t think the AirPods would be comfortable (still probably won’t work for everyone) only thing that bugs me is they looked misaligned where they are constructed. Also got them for 119 through Verizon’s website because it apparently gives discounts if you have service through them? Can’t complain for the price though.

 

One thing Apple must do this year - instead of the usual Beats giveaway with all student MacBook Pro purchases for the Fall, they should instead include a HomePod.

You aren’t selling very many to begin with. And with Beats headphones, they are just going to pair them with their device and still use Spotify. You give them the HomePod for free, but you pick up more Apple Music subscriptions.

Makes sense right?

 

I am trying to add music from own library that is not in Apple Music and I keep getting the iCloud music error message regardless of how I have the setting set on my phone. Anyone know how I can fix this?

 

From your computer or phone? Tried rebooting iTunes and or signing in and out of iCloud?

 

I was attempting to move files my iTunes library that was on my hard drive over to my phone. And it would say not all files copied over because iCloud music was turned on. I toggled switch both ways in settings and each time I still got the same message. I will try your suggestions and see if that works.

 

Now that I've had the iPhone X for a little while...I can't be the only one that prefers Touch ID to Face ID right? Feel like Touch had a noticeably better hit rate for me, though Face is quicker when it actually works. Any hacks or tips to improve accuracy or success rate for Face?

 

My face ID fails more but I'd say it works probably 90% of the time. Have you tried setting up your Face ID using different angles? Like if most of the time you're picking up your phone off a desk and you're looking down at it, record your Face ID using that angle instead of recording it with your phone at face level.

 

Face ID is so much better than Touch ID that I look at my iPad and can't understand why it won't unlock for me. I want it everywhere.
