  1. No. I paid for a whole year of the iTunes Match when I already had Apple Music. They have it purposefully ambiguous I think, but my library syncs with non-library tracks just fine. Every now and again, I run into something that is grayed out because it did not finish uploading or something.

Alright, so I have accumulated about $250 in Best Buy gift cards. I'm torn between a Switch and an Apple Watch. I'm leaning toward the Apple Watch, because it's something I would use every day for exercise/workflow sort of things. Right now, the Series 1 is on sale for $200, but I keep reading that the Series 3 performance feels like the type of experience people were expecting because if its extra processing power.

So that makes sense. But if we're already heading into April, I feel like it's worth waiting around to see what the Series 4 might turn out to be? It seems like most people who have the Series 0 feel like they still work just fine, but I would appreciate any input anyone has, particularly about longevity and performance.

I had a Series 0 until the beginning of the year when I switched to a Series 3. The Series 3 is much faster than my old one and the battery lasts almost double the time. Don't know about the Series 1 though.

Upgraded from a 0 to the 3 back in November and it was shocking how much faster the 3 was. I'd probably recommend the 3 just because of it being several years newer, but I don't know much about performance either. 1 will be obsolete before the 3.

I’ve had the 0 since launch and am desperately wanting to upgrade, ha. I’ve been holding out for a slimmer model, but it sounds like that may be at least another year or two away (based on the rumor that Apple is starting to make their own displays).

That's the thing I really don't like about the Apple Watch. You spend a few hundred dollars for a watch that won't work well in a few years. I'd rather spend that money, or even twice that money on something nice that will last me decades.

I understand that it's comparing apples to oranges in terms of purpose and features, but I cannot get over that, especially since the design and fashion of it were major selling points.

  7. Still on my series 0 and I love it. I’ve had to optimize it to work all day but it does and it’s still killer AND still supported. I never play my switch.

yeah I'm still on the initial series and, although i experience some lag in touch and sometimes slow interaction, i'm perfectly fine with it. i will eventually upgrade im sure but im nowhere near as inclined upgrade the watch as frequently as I do the phone.

  9. Feel like if I was going to buy a decades long watch, it'd be at a price point more than three times an Apple Watch at least. I'd be going over a thousand bucks easily if I wanted a true heirloom type watch. Buying an Apple Watch for $329 every 5-6 years (I don't see myself doing this, just thinking hypothetically) ... would put me at around $650 in ten years. Sounds right to me. A

Quick look at mechanical watches in the $800 game and I dunno, they don't look that much better than some of the $2-300 watches. Feel like you gotta go up a big price point after that to get something really nice.

But, I don't really like wearing a watch so I'm happy with my fitness tracker and notification giver Apple Watch. Probably will use it until it literally dies. I'm not a watch kinda guy I guess.

    I like sunglasses though.

Yeah, it's a personal preference/experience thing I suppose. Things like the different movements, styles, and history are what draw me to watches so our priorities are certainly different. I will say though that a steel case Apple Watch with a crisp leather band does look damn good. I just wish it was something I could pass on to my kids.

  11. Anyone else have trouble with 1Blocker whitelisting? I have Chorus (and the forum domain) whitelisted, but I still can’t get Facebook or Instagram embeds to show up unless I do a refresh without content blockers. Do I need to whitelist the sites where the embeds are coming from as well? Hopefully not since I want to block as much as I can on Facebook.

Kinda bummed that the event today isn't being live streamed. Anyone know if they go up right away to watch, or does it take a bit?

Most new products will go up once the event ends

  14. Depending on the specs of this new iPad, it might be time to upgrade from the Air 2. Pencil support is tempting.

Yeah I'm probably going to update from my Mini 4. Pencil support is what I've wanted for so long, but have no need to spend that much on a Pro just for that.

  16. I just got my fifth-gen iPad for Christmas so I’m nowhere near upgrading, but pencil support at this level of the iPad line is a great thing.

  17. I will say though that the Air 2 has had incredible longevity and it’s by no means on its last legs.

Yeah i've been rocking an Air 1 for the last oh 4 1/2 years and it's only recently that I've noticed some slowing down and battery depreciation. I think I'm going to hold off and see what the new Pros are going to look like before making a decision but for $330 this is a good deal.

I got the Air 2 in 2016 and it runs like a pro. (not an actual Pro.....dammit...)

The next upgrade I am going to make will likely be to the watch if they introduce series 4 this fall or winter.

Sending animoji's to my grandparent's singing "happy birthday" will always get a good reaction. Cannot recommend it enough, they'll think you are wizard (at least mine do).

    Try whitelisting GitHub.

With 1Blocker I have to restart safari after changes to make it work.

  24. Mu Air 2 got relegated to being our baby monitor for the last 2.5 years but I keep it updated and am stoked to see it's still supported. Excited to use it again soon!

  25. Yeah, I use mine almost daily. Still runs great.
