I clicked like, three buttons(?) and was able to watch the newest season of Nathan For You. Took like 30 seconds to install the channel and get to the episode.

 

I have friends that use it and they seem to like it. I think it all depends on your download speeds. Also they sometimes have some weird black out stuff with sports but that's basically any sports streaming service.

 

I use Sling on/off depending on sports, so right now I have it. It works a lot better than it used to, but ESPN can be finicky. Though I just use the ESPN app (that you gain access to) and that works better, or more consistently.

 

That was my plan. Just to use it to login to WatchESPN. Or maybe for NBATV.

 

Yeah, WatchESPN is better, but largely Sling works. I have it for NBATV this time as well too (as well as ESPN, TNT). ESPN is just the only channel that gets weird. Like I loaded it Saturday night for college football and it just didn't want to load. All the other channels did like normal. Annoying as hell until I remembered the WatchESPN app.

 

Cool. Thanks for the info. I’ve only watched ESPN via that app for like two years. I finally was able to ditch Comcast, so I was looking how to replace that. Looks like a good and much cheaper option for me. I’ll try it out for the free week this week with the nba back and see what I think.

If you're ordering through the Apple Store app, which is the best way, you can also go ahead and create whatever configuration you need (carrier, color, storage) and mark it as a favorite to make it that much quicker on order day.

My 6S Plus has become really shitty and laggy. Decided I'm doing a Factory Reset.

Any tips/musts? I'm a bit nervous about wiping it clean and losing something I forgot to back up forever.

 

Well, Amazon messed something up and sent my coworker iPhone X screen protectors out of the blue. He walked over to me and assumed orders were already up and these were for me. They're in my hand right now and this just feels so right.

 

I just tried to go through this process, but the option to continue with the X is greyed out for me. Also tried to find the option to go ahead and get preapproved for my upgrade, but I'm not totally sure I did it correctly. I'm already in the Upgrade Program through Apple.

Edit: A bit more research is showing me that this process just isn't available yet for the X.

 

Well the “continue” button is going to be greyed out until pre-orders go live. After selecting your carrier, color and storage and the method you’ll be purchasing the phone with (IUP or carrier installments) though, there is a page that has the heart in the top right. Tap that and your configuration is now favorited.

i always backup to icloud and also do a hard backup to my computer.

i've done it a few times (and may actually have to this week, i've been having trouble syncing and i have a genius appt tomorrow and I am assuming i'll get the old "yeah you should try factory resetting" solution they always diagnose).

its a pain in the ass to set your phone back up completely the way you had it but you should be fine.

apparently a factory reset is good for a phone every once in a while.

 

I think you're on different page. You can just go under the "Shop" tab at the bottom of the app to start configuring it and then favorite it. Then on order day you would complete the IUP stuff.

 

Thanks! I'm in the middle of cleaning up/merging my address book now. First time I've done it in all of my existence.

 

I keep all my important stuff in the cloud, same goes for my PC. I image my PC regularly and since I'm so used to backing up in the cloud, I never hesitate when I do it.

 

Might just bite the bullet and do the same with my 6. Can't stand the lag on it anymore, so hopefully a factory reset will work. Just make sure everything you care about it backed up through iCloud and you should be fine!

 

address book and photos usually always sync over right away if the phone is backed up to icloud. i've never had any issues resotring contacts or having my photo stream re-appear.

 

Yeah the lag is killing me. I never really experienced it on previous iPhones either.

I actually started backing up my photos to Google Photos, pretty easy and unlimited if you sacrifice some quality.

As for contacts, my iCloud is acting up with backing them up and they're also a little messy spread across different accounts. I'm almost there though.
