My Mac Mini came in today and I'm so excited to mess around with it and make it my media hub!

 

I pretty much took the whole week of thinking over them before I'd allow myself to buy them, haha. By Wednesday I knew I for sure wanted them, but wanted to wait until the weekend when I knew I could actually use them.

Do you always keep them in the case? I worry how that might affect the battery since they're always technically charging in between uses.

Same here. I have never been a fan of adding a keyboard to an iPad, because it just never made sense for a device that I viewed as being for media consumption. With iOS 11 decided to give that a go with my Air 2, and holy shit have I been using it as a laptop replacement. Unfortunately, the LMS I work with on a daily basis is not mobile friendly, so the one thing it doesn't do well is what do most. But all of the periphery stuff in Drive, Evernote, and Office, it handles like a champ.

It’s not automatic (you have to navigate to it), but the maps widget will do this.

 

What do you mean? I‎t used to automatically pop up when I got in the car and connected to Bluetooth.

EDIT: so you just swipe right and click on the maps widget?

 

If i didnt keep them in the case i would for sure have lost them by now haha

The battery life is incredible, and i dont believe keeping them in the case will cause any longterm battery issues, i dont think you can overcharge them.

I use them multiple times a week at length, and since i purchased them back in june i have had to fully charge the case with pods inside maybe three times?

 

Anyone pick up an Apple Watch Series 3 yet? I'm super interested in streaming music from it to my AirPods while working out, but can't quite get myself to take the plunge. Help convince me?

 

I just went to AT&T to order one actually. I’m getting it for the same reason, but I don’t think music streaming has been released yet?

 

I don’t know why but for the past two months or so my 7 plus has been struggling. I can rarely get more than 2 bars of service now and several times a day my phone just says searching. When I do have service or at connected to WiFi about 25% of the time things don’t load or just take a really long time. I was hoping to try to get the X next year but man I don’t know if I can hold out much longer.

 

I upgraded my second gen Apple TV last week and it’s been a good move so far.

Also, picked up AirPods and they’ve been cool. Has anyone tried those tips you can add for reducing outside noise? Are they worth it or work well?

 

Music is much nicer in watchos4, even on my series 2. It was very clunky to use before.

 

I want an Apple Watch.

I love my Hamilton Khaki, but my leather straps are starting to wear, and the Florida heat combined with my sweat is not very nice to them. So I pretty much only wear it on special occasions.

I have a Fitbit that I wear day to day, which I acquired from my late father-in-law who had never opened it.

I want an iPhone X.

Gotta say, Airpods with a rain coat over the top makes doing an errands/going for walks in the rain much more enjoyable. I can get used to that.

 

Yea, I realize that they haven't done that yet. Ugh. I WANT to want one so bad, but I still can't bring myself to commit.

 

So I'm still on a family plan with my parents through Sprint because it's a lot cheaper than us all paying separately. Turns out my dad has a business account, so we can't take advantage of the 2 year contract price through Apple on their site. We have to order through Sprint which is going to be such a pain in the ass.
I'd just order full price through Apple but $550 for a $999 phone for a carrier I plan to stay with for 2 more years is too much money to pass up.

 

I haven't, i considered it until it hit me that you'd have to put them on/take them off every time you removed your airpods from the charging case. Seemed like it wouldn't be worth the hassle, plus I'm lazy.

 

It's coming soon. My guess is it may coincide with the iPhone X/iOS 11.1 release in early November.

 

Trying to use Safari as my main browser. Is there a way to disable it asking me to save my password for every website? I already have a password manager.

 

Safari > Preferences > Autofill > uncheck username/passwords

 

Anyone use Sling TV regularly? Thoughts?

 

Well, Plex is real fun. I'm having a blast with this.

 

I swear by it now. Maybe 90% of what I watch is there. And the rest is sports/Netflix.
