Pretty much basically haha. If we're still on for podcasting tomorrow, I'll also be recording 4x this week and editing 2x. ALL THE PODCASTS.

 

what smart speed settings do you guys use? 1 x, 2x?

 

Smart Speed is just an on or off switch in Overcast. It changes everything algorithmically while playing to speed up parts, shorten silences, etc.

 

My iPhone 6 has crashed twice today, three times total since updating. Usually while in the Music app. Anyone else having problems?

 

I've noticed my 6 being a bit laggy at first but it's starting to work pretty good. what do you mean "crashed"?

 

Music stops abruptly, I have control of the phone for a few more seconds and then it freezes, unfreezes maybe one out of every 30 seconds until I can power down, if I can’t power it down it does so automatically after like 5 minutes of doing this. Has happened three times now.

 

Wow I would lose it. I'm not sure why that is happening to yours. Don't know if this would fix it but is your hardrive full?

But you can also adjust the speed setting in conjunction with the smart speed right? Like the little tick marks below can be adjusted. Or does the smart speed override that setting?

 

You can also speed it up. I never do though.

 

These are my settings when listening to most podcasts. If I’m listening to a true crime podcast or one that’s telling some kind of story, I typically turn all of these off

second day in a row i've woken up to my alarm not actually making sound, just vibrating. when this happens, my volume command buttons don't actually show up as if the volume wasn't being changed. any suggestions?

yes, my settings still have it as "alarm when on silent" on

When on the main screen, you’ll see the Overcast icon in the top left corner. Tap that and swipe all the way down

Just picked up my Apple Watch Series 3 last night, and I love it so far. Everything is recognizably faster than my Series 0. The only thing I don't like is that I can't browse my iPhone music library on the watch, and I can't really control anything remotely from the watch like I did before. I used to plug my phone into the speakers at the gym and play it, being able to change to whatever I want directly from my watch. This is a huge bummer.

Yeah, it actually does. I suppose this was to fix the problem where a bad connection or too far of a distance would cause the watch to lag or not work at all. The new WatchOS automatically syncs selected playlists and downloads them locally. Wouldn't be surprised if Apple brings the original functionality back in some kind of toggle in the music app like "Control iPhone with Watch" later on.

 

I originally wasn't going to get an iPhone 8, but I can upgrade for free, and the X is going to be a little too pricey for me, so I may go this weekend to get one.

Trying to decide if I want to just get an 8 or go for the 8 plus. The only thing I don't like is how big the plus is.

 

I love how big the plus is tbh I'm so used to having phones this big I couldn't imagine going smaller lol at least in screen size.

 

I went from a 6 to the 8 Plus. Get the Plus.
