Excited it's now free. I've always wanted to try it out but never wanted to spend the money just to mess around with it.

Anyone have any insight of how major some of the functionality that was broken with some third party apps since the Apple purchase?

Not sure if anybody is interested, but I just started using Setapp which is a monthly subscription for a bunch of handy Apps ($9.99 per month after the trial I think). You can trial it for a free month at this link (Disclaimer: You can get a free month anyway, but this also gets me a free month). I'm currently using Clean My Mac 3 for getting rid of rubbish files hogging storage, iFlicks for art/metadata for the film/tv files I'll be adding to Plex and Ulysses for writing. There's a ton more in the subscription I just haven't checked them all out yet.

  8. Why do it twice? Plex does it automatically.

  9. Other great apps in SetApp worth looking at (in the package, or standalone): Downie, Flume, iStat Menus, Marked, Screens, and Taskpaper.

  10. Yeah, it's awesome for so many little things. It's fun to put a bunch of things together and have it just go.

  11. Haha, that would be fun. Just automation in general is a fun topic to tackle or think about. I enjoy it every time I figure out a new way to automate a task that I used to do manually.

Latest was cropping, resizing, compressing, and renaming images for using as featured images on the website. Turned the whole process into a right click option that works on about 97% of images. Totally worth the day I spent doing it. Hahaha.

Yeah I made no sense there! Plex sorts all that, but I'm weird and like the files on my HD to also have the artwork and what not!

Hah. I just got a paid internship for Inquisitr and it's funny that you mention that because the image editor they want me to use is literally refusing to load on my laptop. Sounds like a great thing to spend a day on haha.

Got my new non-touchbar mbp for work today and wow, is it a nice looking computer. No trouble with the new keyboard so far and the screen quality just blows my 2012 mbp out of the water.

Funny enough the multi-port dongle reduces the number of things I have to plug in when I get to my desk, so there's that.

The trackpad on this thing rules.

I don't have the new 2016 MPB but the trackpad on the 2015 is still incredible. The force touch (or whatever the one on the trackpad is called??) is incredible. My girlfriend has the retina MBP with the older trackpad and it feels so uncomfortable to use now compared to the force touch one.

Nothing crazy. An external display, power, and a full-sized wired mac keyboard. The keyboard having USB ports is quite helpful as I just connect my external backup drive to that instead of the computer. I velcro'd the multi-port adapter to the side of my desk and now when I come into the office I just have to plug in a single usb-c port and I'm good to go.

Have they changed it? Haven't used it on iTunes, only iOS.

  21. In the last few versions it wouldn't work the way I wanted: to send full albums before or after other full albums in the queue. Now it does.

Damn I really want that iPhone SE, too. I would get it if I wasn't convinced the new iPhones will be coming out in six months or less. I'm hoping the next generation has a smaller version than the current 6/7.

Got an email that my AirPods shipped about two weeks early so they should be here next week. I can't wait to get them.
