Jumped on the $850 pre-tax price for the base MacBook Air. Then I'll purchase mine with effectively two trade-ins from Apple. Shockingly the trade-in value for these M1 Airs are better than selling to someone else and selling on eBay sucks.

 

Scooped the m4 ipad pro.The price is absurd, but I feel it’s acceptable as my only device. I’ve been 100% ipad as a laptop replacement for a year or so. For the work I do it’s more than efficient. We don’t have a tv so pretty much all of my at home streaming and movies are on my ipad. I’ve been on the M1 air, and the camera in the wrong spot for meetings has been driving me nuts. Amazon has them for $100 off so I went for it.

The side by side on clarity and color is pretty nuts next to my M1 ipad air, it’s unbelievable how light it is, and the pro motion is immediately rad. I almost never use the ipad without headphones, but these speakers are killer. Going to try some work calls without headphones this week. Hoping the next IOS update gets a bit closer to where i’d like it to be. It’s pretty annoying that all the youtube reviews are so skewed because everyone doing the review is a video editor. IMO ipads are like 95% of the way to being complete laptop replacements. I’m super happy with it out of the box. Got a lightly used magic keyboard for $120 off. Excited to get it to work monday and set it up from my monitor. I’m all in on ipad over laptops. It does so much as well as basic computing tasks. For my specific job it’s extremely useful for a number of tasks. Would love to hear feedback from anyone who is using an ipad as a laptop / long term thoughts on the m4 pro.

Got dangerously close to doing a mac mini and an ipad, but went for the m4 ipad pro hoping it’ll be my only device. The m4 mac mini is unbelievable value. If after a bit of use it isn’t all i’m hoping it to be, i’ll probably go this route too minus a macbook.

 

Just upgraded to an iPhone 16 Pro from the 14 Pro and am loving the form factor.

Should be getting my Caudabe Sheath case on Monday. Anyone rocking that? First time using this brand.

 

I’ve always been interested in their cases but never bit the bullet.

I have a Spigen I’ve been using with my 16 Pro but not in love with it. Just threw on an apple silicone case to see how I like it this time. Ultimately I know I’ll end up caseless.

 

I’d love to know what use cases an iPad is better at for you than a Mac. I simply struggle to even make it work for me for things like collaborative work in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, things that are pretty much expected at the current time.

 

Yeah I completely disagree that an iPad is anywhere close to replacing a real operating system lol

 

Anyone have/had issues with their Safari bookmarks no longer syncing across devices? I made some changes from my Macbook the other day and they no longer sync to my iPhone. I've tried turning off/on iCloud sync for Safari from both Mac and iOS, that didn't work, and tried this suggestion as well and that didn't work either

 

If anyone is interested. Texture on the case is phenomenal. Love the color too.

 

I was tempted to pre-order one with the camera control button.

Nah I just don’t believe in screen protectors or cases

 

I definitely think screen protectors are pretty pointless these days, but only if you have a case with bumpers around the screen and camera. I drop my phone at least 3-5 times a day haha

I'm just the clumsiest person alive. If I'm not dropping it out of my hand, I'm resting it on my lap on a chair or couch with it constantly sliding off onto the floor. I took my old Galaxy S8+ out of its case for like 5 minutes just to clean it in the bathroom, immediately dropped it onto the tile and shattered the back glass.

My case now only comes off when I'm in bed at the end of the night or on a thick carpeted surface

 

I don’t put my phone in my pocket with anything else and generally baby it and the screen always gets covered in micro scratches without a screen protector. Drives me crazy

Also use a case because they’re slippery as fuck without one

Definitely would recommend thinking of them for future phone cases. I’ve been using it for a couple hours now and it’s already probably one of my favorite cases ever.

 

I have a case but no screen protector (idk why I never did it on this phone, I usually do) and I’ve got a crack on the bottom right of the screen. I’ll get it fixed at some point

 

I’ve only shattered the back of my 11 and most recently 14 Pro since owning an iPhone since the 3G model. I just can’t not have a case. Trust me I love naked iPhones and using them, but I don’t make fuck me money so protection it is haha

 

case is non-negotiable.

 

I recently did a trip abroad with my phone without a case and while the phone is much more “wearable” that way (slides in and out of pocket nicely, less bulk), actually gripping it (especially trying to use a camera) is a nightmare. Designing them to be so pretty you wanna look at it but also so slippery it cannot be used comfortably is cruel.

 

Actually I just noticed my 3 week old phone has a micro scratch on the display and it's going to bug the hell out of me now haha
