I think I did once. I’m pretty sure completely deleting the song and removing from your library and then re-adding did the trick.

The weird thing is it’s not even in my library it’s just streaming

  4. I’ve had this happen a couple of times in addition to it just not playing any songs.

I’ve found that a power cycle will usually fix any issues like that

I still love my AirPods Max 1st gen other than it being one of the only lightning chargers I still have to use, the headband sagging and battery life being eh

Replaced my 2015 MBP yesterday with a new 14" MBP. It's nice.

Anyone ever have an issue with Apple Music where songs will quickly stop playing and then just...refuse to play? When you click the play button, it will very quickly switch to the pause button and then back to play.

I've noticed it only occurs on my iPhone (16 Pro Max) when I have headphones connected. Doesn't matter which - Apple or otherwise. The only way to solve it is to disconnect the headphones, play the song for 5-10 seconds through the phone speakers, then reconnect. Sometimes, if it's being extra pesky, I have to go play a different song altogether to get it to snap out of it.

yeah... apple music is super buggy sometimes. and its search functionality can be quite slow. i'll occasionally put on an album, and it'll just skip through every song and not play any of them. i'll have to kill the app and reopen just to get it to work again. sometimes it happens mobile, sometimes desktop.

Obviously everyone’s mileage with anything will be different, but I can genuinely say I’ve never had any of that happen to me

I've had some issues with Apple Music but nothing to the point to make me go back to a worse experience on Spotify.

I've been thinking for weeks that I need to reset my Focus settings because I'm needed much more regularly for the shelter and with people from outside my small circle of close friends calling me. Seems like the only option to fully reset is to delete anything custom and manually revert other changes.

I traded in my M1 MBP to apple last October and the initial offer was rejected due to "Cosmetic polariser/delamination damage on the display" and so they sent it back. After seeing a reddit post of people saying to always go into an Apple Store for trade-in's because the mail-in trade in process is managed by a 3rd party, I went into an Apple Store this week and the employee was great. Accepted the trade-in with no issues and the trade-in amount only went down just a tiny bit. Very easy process. The employee said he didn't see any delamination or anything after reviewing it and was confused as to why they would say that?

@Drew Beringer - is it true that apple uses a 3rd party for trade-in's when done via a mail in?

Regardless - pretty stoked that it went well because no one was really biting on Facebook marketplace (except for the countless scammers that would reply and offer my 2.5x the amount I paid for it initially lol)

  20. I honestly do not know - I know the prices are set by third party companies as they are technically the ones buying the trade in so I would assume so.

They do use a third-party for mail-in. I suspect that Apple is willing to eat some money on trade-ins being done in store because it means a sale is happening and then when the third-party gets it they pay the difference knowing they just had you spend more money.

Because of the stupidity of everything, I'm considering upgrading everything but iPads right now.

Debating how much I need a M4 MacBook Air over a refurb M3.
Same thing kind of applies for an iPhone - do I need a 16 Pro or do I get just the standard 16.

I'm assuming these things will need to last another three or four years, too, so that needs to be factored in. But that also brings in the question of how easy the battery replacement is in the standard 16 over the 16 Pro.

Love my M4 but I don't think it's thaaat big of an upgrade from the M3. My M4 is for personal use, M3 is for work. (MacBook Pros though, not the Air)

The M3 is still plenty powerful for me to have like 10+ Java and Typescript codebases open in IntelliJ with 1-2 running application servers, MS Teams webcam meetings and screen sharing, Outlook, 10-20 tabs open in Microsoft Edge, etc. Battery is great on both.

So, I would say if you want to save the money, you will still be satisfied with either one

If you want a thunderbolt dock with dual monitors though, the M4 is the way to go. It's the first MacBook to support dual monitors over a single thunderbolt cable. Otherwise you'll need to install Display link manager which can have some small latency and really works by running a screen recording on your Mac to output to your displays

I'm a big single display guy - used to only work on a 15-inch MacBook and even was stubborn and only worked on a 13-inch MacBook for a time. Right now I use a second display, doubt I'd ever go to having two displays beyond the laptop becuase it just seems like too much for me and I don't have the desk space.

Most of my development these days isn't local and even then I've been transitioning more to an architect role so I'm less concerned about throttling and even so, I'm sure it would still crank before it got to that point. I have zero issues with my M1 ever lagging and both my work and personal computers are the same. I might consider combining usage into one machine as part of this, too, so capacity is the larger concern in the end.

If I can find a configuration that works for me in the refurb store and makes sense price-wise, I think I could be good going that route.

Oh yeah, and size - I bring this thing everywhere so I don't think 15 and 16-inches are going to work for me anymore. 13 and 14-inch for sure.

I totally forgot they introduced music haptics in Apple Music until it randomly turned on today when I was playing music in the car. I may have accidentally hit it but I thought my phone was malfunctioning lol
