Does not sit right with me to advertise a Feel Good playlist when everything is literally going to shit, all the while Tim Cook literally donated to the Trump campaign. Does not sit right with me at all.

Still going to keep buying this garbage.

Yeah...my iPhone XR is breathing it's last breath and I need a new phone. Apple just makes the best phone for my needs unfortunately.

I’m buying it because it actually curated a solid and upbeat playlist that did make me feel good the entire 3 hour car ride yesterday

I didn't expect to come away from the conference with this opinion but I'm all in on Notes and handwriting. The recognition and fixing to make it legible is top notch. Other than some annoying little bugs where it threw the text out of sequence and I had to undo it, it was rock solid and my notes are actually readable.

If those new iPhones 17 camera designs are to be believed, then that is ugly. I would prefer a different camera layout to the triangle in one corner like now but a stretched backdrop.

well turns out industrial design is about more than just creating a pleasing visual.

This is driving me crazy and while I know there's the Recent Notes menu now...

Notes needs navigational arrows so I can move back and forth between everything.

Not sure Steve or Jony would agree.

Steve? The “design is how it works”-guy?

What I mean is that there needs to be a balance between design and functionality. No matter how well something works, if it lacks visual appeal, people will be less inclined to buy it.

Yes and all Apple products no matter how awkward on first impression and derided have stood the test of time and been successful. Just look at AirPods.

it’s okay to simply say “I don’t like/get this” and move on, without implying that a bunch of designers failed at their job.

Apple doesn’t have a product lead anymore and from my perspective, that is starting to show.

You're talking out of your ass.

Also you're taking 7+ month early leaks at face value.

Not at all. Never did I once say anything but IF these leaks are to be believed.

I’m not trying to start any arguments here btw.

  15. Finally documented my current Home Screen(s) again: My iOS 18 Home Screen

I mostly do this for myself so I can look back on it in the future, but always kinda fun to share.

does it not annoying the lack of notification badges on custom icons? I feel like I would miss so much stuff

  17. I don’t keep them on for anything except Messages of the custom icons. None of the other apps have badges I’d want on to begin with.

I’ve used launch center pro for years but have always wondered when running shortcuts it opens the shortcut app even if I have the shortcut to run in the background. Is there anyway around this or does it always have to open the shortcuts app first to run since it’s launching from another app?

  19. I haven't seen a way around that because it needs to launch from that App.

That’s what I was thinking but was hoping you were going to surprise me with the workaround I’ve been looking for for years. Ha

  21. I hope someday Apple allows that. Surprised they let the home screen app icons work as well as they do.

I agree. I’m also very worried that launch center pro will just stop working at some point since it seems like the developer has moved on. The other day I was having issues adding some new shortcuts to it. I’ve started to look for other options.

  23. Same. I even tried making my own basic shortcut launcher for the things I use it for, but it's just way slower. LCP is just so fast to do the things and the menu system so clever. I wish the native Shortcut app could do half of what it can with the screen real estate.

100%. I’ve downloaded most every app launcher and nothing really comes close to LCP. It’s so hard to imagine my phone without it.

Man, I'm so happy I held off on an iPad Air. M3, new Magic Keyboard (which only comes in white, stupid) - but what I wanted.

Just a matter of whether our money means anything after this week.
