OpenAI is desperate for money right now. They're flailing. I wouldn't be surprised to ultimately see them fail.
Just went from using 1st gen AirPods Pro for the past four years to 3rd gen and the difference in noise cancelling is unreal. I turned on my loud as hell air conditioner while I had them in and had to put my hand over it to confirm it was running
Anyone have experience with replacing AirPod max cushion cups with 3rd party ones? One of mine is starting to tear and the third party ones are enticing with the price difference between those and the official Apple ones
I think it’s the AI focus all around in Tech, I just don’t care. I have a feeling most new software features will be ones I don’t use.
been down an XR/AR glasses rabbit hole lately and i feel like apple's version of that would be the next thing to really pique my interest tbh
As someone who is borderline on supported prescription ranges by almost all XR/AR glasses - they are a total nonstarter for me. Throw in things like astigmatism adjustments and the prism needed in my lenses - I doubt I will ever be able to use them. I was completely left out of anything with the Vision Pro as a result. I also greatly care about privacy.
i should have clarified i'm specifically interested in the "external monitor" type glasses for like watching movies and gaming on a giant virtual screen. which as i type it out it's pretty clear apple is definitely going to be more of the meta ray-ban's type AI thing that i am not interested in..lol
I know this is "boring" but I honestly don't care about half the gimmicks they introduce over the years. Efficient power / data management, better search, and more intelligent wireless communication features make using the device better. Those aspects you run into far more frequently than some AI generative blah blah garbage.
OK I take that back, the helicopter parent section can be shortened. [I do agree children should not have too much access to all the apps and games and content online, it's bad enough for adult brains] also that screen of "all my friends are on this site already" is prime for memeing.
I did say the other day to my partner that parents have failed their kids when it comes to parental controls on devices but also that society has failed parents in not teaching them what options are available to them. So I do appreciate these features while also knowing that they largely won't be used so we're going to continue having our online and device privacy stripped away by politicians being funded by Meta.
that Siri voice example is horrifying. sounds like a robot voice in a movie that turns evil after the hour mark.
