The Neo looks pretty rad. I am iPad forever at this point, but I bet the neo will dominate college laptop sales this summer and fall. IMO m4 everything rn is the best move for working professionals that want a new device that will last them 6-10 years. If I had more use for a home office I would definitely scoop an m4 Mac mini, but I genuinely have no need for anything besides my m4 pro for workflow and casual use at this point. Everything released feels like a minor spec bump aside from the nano being a new category entirely for MacBooks. Excited to check one out in person. Still wild to me the air has an m4 chip like a year and a half after the iPad Pro dropped.
For the price difference I’m pretty okay with all the “missing” features from air to neo..but man I know I’m gonna really not like having a non-backlit keyboard lol
I'm excited to see MacBook Neo in-person soon, I realized this will get quite an upgrade in a couple years. The A18 Pro only had 8GB of RAM, but the A19 Pro has 12GB, so when this gets refreshed with a newer A-series chip, it'll *hopefully* have more RAM in the SOC. It's not for me (eyeballing that OLED MacBook Pro refresh...), but I'm happy it exists and they're gonna sell millions of them.

Been ready to upgrade my M1 Air for an M5... something. I'd prefer Pro this time as a change, but part of me wants to save money and just get another Air because I don't really have any intensive compute needs. Can't make up my mind.
My M1 Pro is starting to feel a bit sluggish on the day-to-day so I’m looking to upgrade. Apparently there’s a redesigned OLED Macbook coming this year but I still think the regular Pro is hard to beat.
Hey yall I need your help I've been seeing a girl and we use voice message a ton, when she uses the voice message in imessage its sooooo broken, it like changes the volume randomly and goes from hard to hear her to extremely loud and clear, the interesting thing is she started using the voice memo app or whatever instead and that pics up her voice perfectly. That's what makes me thing its a software issue and NOT a hardware issue. Is it possible a different mic pics up her voice in the memo app than the imessage app? I keep thinking there is a setting she needs to change. Anyone have ANY idea how to fix this? She has as 16 pro.
Might be that it is changing which mic it's picking her up from. Do you know if she's using headphones to record these?
Okay yeah I think that could be it, she is not using headphones. She has mentioned she has dropped her phone quite a few times haha.
My ADHD is running wild and I am scheming getting the neo and an iPad mini as a replacement for my m4 pro. lol i love the pro so much and have literally found every meaningful workaround to make it a full on laptop replacement but the novelty of switching it up is calling my name.
Happy to help! I suspect the phone itself was trying to figure out which mic to use - bottom of device or back of device - depending on where it was picking up her voice.
It’s totally absurd that they don’t have an M series chip in them. Or at least the ability to use a second screen instead of mirroring. I’m hopeful the new mini will be able to. Looks like the neo can without an m series chip in it.
My Google TV Streamer remote has that iirc. If not, my Nvidia Shield TV Pro remote definitely did. Insanely useful haha
