A tad late but while I liked Liquid Glass from the moment it was announced, I’m still shocked they didn’t make it easier (or possible at all) to tell where the border of one dark app overlaps with another dark app. And I wish the tops and bottoms of the messages app were more opaque (or that they they kept the bar and didn’t use the bubble motif for the person you’re talking to) so you don’t see words directly behind other words.

In the market for a new phone for my wife for Xmas and was wondering if anyone has any experience buying refurbished older edition iPhones phones? I usually buy a version back, so I guess this would be 16, but have never done it with anything other than a new product.

 

My MIL just did that and had no issues. Bought from the Apple website. I’ve done it with computers before too (Mac Mini).

 

Yeah just do it through Apple though. Best Buy and Amazon have given me absolutely garbage refurbished products

Is anyone else having issues with their number connecting to iMessage? I’ve been on the phone with customer support for over an hour and they have no idea what’s wrong

 

Got some Pro 3’s - didn’t realize they are bigger than the Pro 2’s

 

I had considered the Pro 3s during these sales but my Pro 2s just survived a full crosscountry flight without problem so I'm holding off.

 

I got the Pro 3's last week and going from the regular AirPods 2 was kind of incredible. I also had a pair of Beats Studio Buds but had quite a few bluetooth issues with them. Loving the Pro 3 fit as well.

 

I was so happy getting Pro 3's that now fit great after the redesign. I had to resort to Beats Fit Pro's just to get any sort of AirPods features, and even then, it was equivalent to Pro 1's. Loving Adaptive Mode, Transparency, mic quality, etc... Well worth the wait. On a similar note, I was surprised to see the updated Beats Fit Pros still have H1 chip, not H2. Seems like a cheap omission for what I consider mid-tier earbuds in 2025.

 

@Jason Tate cant find your post but did you ever pick up that twelve south power bug charger? Was thinking of grabbing one for my gf for Christmas but the reviews on Amazon aren’t the best

 

I have two of them, one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. No complaints at all. We use them all the time.

Curious what the reviews said? Can't think of anything negative. Maybe some cases not being Magsafe strong enough? I dunno. I'm super happy with them.

 

Yeah basically the gist was that the magnets in it weren’t strong enough to hold the phone

 

Wife has a third party case, it’s plastic I think, and I have the techwoven. iPhone 17 pro for me. Hers is an also a pro. So no Max’s, but the grip on it is totally not a thing I’d ever be worried about imo.

 

26.2 is out, this is about when I hop off the beta ride.

 

I feel like Tahoe has done something funky to the framerate when connected to monitors through a DisplayLink dock... Which is all my office cubicles use haha. Just not a smooth experience at all moving the mouse around. No issues on my Thunderbolt dock at home.
