Weird issue coming up with my Apple TV the last week or so while watching something it will randomly freeze, the screen will flash green and then the unit restarts some Reddit posts indicate it may be a power supply issue but not sure. Earlier the subtitles also froze like 30 seconds before it restarted itself It’s a 4K from like 2018 or 2019
This deal is still up, I know most people here have the pros or other higher quality headphones but this is a great deal if you're looking for a gift for someone.
I feel like Replay is another example of Apple being late to the party, but staying consistent to deliver an overall better end of the year breakdown when compared to Spotify and others.
This is officially a shit show now. but hey, get that bag from Meta. They’re throwing so much stupid money around and I’m willing to bet very little of it works out.
So the guy responsible for Liquid Glass was with apple since 1999? Meaning he made solid design choices before this whole debacle?
I’m probably an outlier but I actually love the way liquid glass looks and have had zero issues with it lol
I don't hate the appearance of liquid glass on my Mac and Apple TV, but it seems like the implementation of it has just brought weird bugs. I do love having dark icons on my Mac now.
Im a big fan of Liquid Glass. I find I don't notice it until im pulling own a screen, or is shows up in apps on a play button and it’s still eliciting a “damn thats cool” response. Overall all of the iOS updates on ipad and taking the time to clean up my main screen has made an already enjoyable experience using it a main device into a very confident i will never own a MacBook again. There are a couple of buggy things though that have been driving me nuts since the first update. Sometimes the pointer and keyboard functions just vanish when I am using a second screen. I trust it will get fixed. Also the windowing is amazing but some UI through iOS is thrown by it. I have a work program that is pretty infuriating related to clickable buttons. Also YouTube gets really weird if you change the window size in a way no other daily use app does.
The 26.2 GM is also really stable so far in my using it, this is probably going to be when I drop off the beta train for the release unless there's something truly cool coming.
Psyched for the return of slide over. A lot of the updates were about making it more Mac OS like, this seems like a celebrating why using an iPad can be so rad.
I wish I could give you more input on that, as we've discussed I've found fewer reasons why I even have an iPad these days.
I’m open to the idea of switching to Apple Music - for those that use it, how is the UI experience compared to Spotify? Making playlists? I assume they have playlists like “Release Radar” for new stuff from the bands/artists I follow, and “Discover Weekly” for new suggested stuff? With Spotify founder funding military tech, not stopping ghost artists, paying artists shit, I’m more comfortable with exploring a switch. Keen to learn more.
i don't think any music streaming platform has a good UI (especially not Spotify), but Apple's does feel like an extension of what they did with their native Music app around the time iOS took off (even if it's definitely more visual-centric). playlists work about the same as any other platform. "Release Radar" and "Discover Weekly" generally fall into "New Music Mix", and while i don't usually check it out for music discovery, my partner recently switched from Spotify to Apple Music (after briefly trying Tidal only for the app to constantly crash and give poor recommendations), and he says the recommendations have been really good in a way that Spotify hadn't been in a long time. i was a long-time Google/Youtube Music subscriber and my big pulls to the service were a) higher quality audio/spatial audio, b) customizability of metadata, and c) uploading songs from your personal music library not already on the service. iirc, not many other services offer that level of control on top of better audio quality, so it just made sense. i'd recommend starting with a free trial to see if you appreciate the overall experience. you can easily port your library and playlists over from Spotify.
I’ve used both for extended periods and find the Spotify UI to be an absolute mess. Apple’s is much cleaner
