Oh shit can I!? EDIT Google says I can edit a copy of the icon as an image and paste it in using Get Info on the folder, but that it might not work with system folders. Weird workaround. But will try later
Downloads isn't a system folder so it'd be fine. The Dark Icons on macOS are weird anyway, like why isn't Numbers updated?
Lol no idea I use Microsoft office products, those at least get a black background Hell, even the YouTube Music icon I have pinned to my dock from Chrome has a dark mode icon
Anyone else with Apple TV OS 26.1 have a weird recurring bug where the entire UI shrinks to the top 1/5 of their display and duplicates itself side by side, and the only option is a reboot? I've seen a few people on Reddit confirm it, too. It doesn't happen often, but it's happened twice since Saturday in my bedroom I'm sorry but what the fuck is going on with Apple rn? I may be an Android guy but I've always defended them for their reliability. This latest major release has been so sloppy across their products, at least between MacOS and TVOS. In my 14 years as a MacOS user, I've never seen anything like it. Every window on my M3 and M4 MBPs stutters when I resize them from a corner.
Apple Music on macOS is so fucking frustrating since upgrading to Tahoe. I’ll select artist and have it set to just randomly shuffle through their discography and it’ll play that initial song, give me the spinning icon and then play similar bands and ignore that I said to shuffle only from the one artist. it was fine yesterday. But now it can’t do it and it’s pissing me off.
I refuse to upgrade to Tahoe because of the stories like this. I need my computer for work and to listen to music lol
TBH tvOS 26.1 has been much buggier than Tahoe for me, but there are certainly quirks in Tahoe that drive me crazy at times
I use AM on a Windows at work and it's actually not that bad. I've used it on my Mac for maybe 10 minutes.
same. i'm not even considering upgrading until my dissertation is finished. i used to pay for an annual individual licence for the statistics software i use, but now i'm using a version on Penn State's remote servers, which only work with a specific VPN, and it takes forever for the VPN's developer to update the software for the latest OS release every time. so if i update it, i run the risk of not having access to the software i need because the VPN is just completely broken.
there's really nothing to get in Tahoe if you don't specifically want Liquid Glass. My main apps are Arc and Figma so I barely ever see it, and the small annoyances in Apple Music etc. are super off putting. Makes me really hope next year will see some actual work put into people's UX complaints, because this ain't it.
anyone still using an Intel Mac with Tahoe? i got the last MacBook Pro with an Intel chip about a month before they decided they were ending manufacture of Intel-based machines. idk how it would even run at this point, but i assume maybe somewhat clunkier since this is the last OS version it's getting.
Apple Music continues to leak memory for me on MacOS. Having to listen to music via my iPhone at the moment.
