Went to get the APP3 and saw the longest line at the Apple store I had ever seen. This generation of phones is going to be very popular.
Bought one of these for the main bathroom: PowerBug Love it. Wanted a way to charge a phone while in the shower, or getting ready, without cords or anything taking up counter space. This is perfect for that. Super compact. Going to get another one for the kitchen too I think.
I wonder if it can power a HomePod Mini. I have one in the bathroom just for playing podcasts and music. But yeah, kitchen is a good idea. The spot where we cook is right by an outlet and this would be perfect.
Just subscribed to Apple Music and imported a lot of my playlists from Spotify. Am I missing something or do I not have the ability to sort them in a custom order?
After watching the JerryRigEverything video that was mostly about the plateau, I totally agree. I'm keeping mine in a case when it gets here, but the caseless folks are gonna have a tough year with the Pro's.
If any of you are on prepaid plans, Visible has a good deal going on. I’ve been happy with US Mobile, but I just made the switch: $205 for the year for their top tier plan, +Pro, (unlimited premium data, unlimited hotspot, watch, HD video, international) after a promo and referral code. And if you have Chase, there’s an additional Visible deal for 25% cashback (up to $30). And just like that I now have data on my watch, woo.
I've been on Visible for over a year now when I got tired of Verizon's extra fees on their postpaid customers but still wanted their network because it's still the best for my lifestyle. Have absolutely no regrets other than not waiting for a deal like this lol. But even at the full price of Visible+ on an annual plan it's still under $40 a month and that's awesome.
The scratch-gate debacle is precisely why I always prefer the non-coated finishes. I still remember how horrible my black iPhone 5 looked by the end of its life.
Also I was testing the Air and the 17 Pro, and while the Air is very pretty and cool, the Pro eventually won out. My Air was absolutely cooking in the sun and I was watching the battery deplete in real time.
I went light colored every year with aluminum phones for this reason. I'd probably do the same with the 18 Pro if I upgrade, especially if it doesn't have a chamfered edge.
Just ended my Apple Music subscription because my 3 month trial that came with my MacBook expired. Any tips on potentially finding new trials? Lol. Lossless was great, but I already get YouTube Music for free with my YouTube Premium subscription so I can't really justify the extra cost
I just searched 'Reachability' in the Settings app to turn it off b/c it's driving me crazy... and it could not locate that setting via that search so I had to manually navigate to it. It's remarkable how bad the search function is within Apple's own Settings app. Edit: I just did it a second time and it worked so I don't know.
I have more problems with Spotlight giving me settings over the app I want to open but I suspect they’re two sides of the same coin.
Was going going to say, "that's a weird clickbait way to word that paper." Then saw it was Topol, who has somehow made a living after Covid doing this exact kinda thing. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was generated based on the development data, and an operating point was selected to prioritize high specificity — minimizing false positives — while also notifying a significant portion of people with hypertension. To identify those at risk of developing hypertension over time, the algorithm analyzes their data after each 30-day period. Seems like a pretty valid tradeoff for passive monitoring that's not an actual cuff.
as someone with hypertension that has a family history people dying from it, I'm actively monitoring this situation (I am currently on a first gen Ultra) is the tl;dr that it's worth it?
It's better than nothing is the gist I get from it. But you likely have a cuff you use to check regularly.
of course, I have the cuff, I take the meds and I am obviously under medical supervision for it! haha
I’ve been playing around with the Use Model action in Shortcuts after Federico mentioned it in his review. Using Apple’s cloud model, I was able to pretty easily create a shortcut that can accept an image of a setlist as input and create a new playlist with those songs. here’s a link if anyone wants to try it out - Shortcuts the on device model returned a list, none of which were songs in the setlist lmao
I added this to my Morning shortcut, and it's way better than what I was doing before: Prompt: Give me a morning report summarizing my day based on this info -- format it nicely with bold text, headers, separators, bullet points, and emoji if needed. Be very concise about the calendar events! If you don't see any calendar events or reminders, just tell me there is nothing planned for the day. For album anniversary dates on the calendar, add how many years it's been (info in the notes on the release date) since release, but no extra emojis on that section. If my meal plan calendar doesn't have a meal for breakfast or lunch or dinner, don't include it it's fine. None of the items should get extra commentary about them. Just simple list.
