This is honestly perfect for anyone who has a mini lol. But for real I’m glad this happened to allow the emulators on the store. I remember following Riley Testut when he first released the Delta emulator. You had to sideload them to get it to work on a iPhone but it was not hard at all and it ran well! Haven’t quite started playing yet but I have Pokemon Black 2 and Heart Gold downloaded to play.

Yeah honestly in my opinion nobody has devised more creative solutions on the iPhone than Riley came up with in the process of releasing Delta (and GBA4iOS 2.0, like a decade ago). His Twitter and blog were absolutely fascinating to read every time he came up with a major workaround for something Apple had walled off

Any Apple folks smarter than me able to offer some insight or advice on the following situation? For context, I have ITB internet with multiple connection devices in my home. I have an iPhone 15 and an Apple Watch series 6 SE and the cellular activated. I also have a couple pairs of AirPod Pros. One is the new model and one is older.

In the past, I had an earlier model watch and phone without cellular. When going for a run, I would put the airpods in while inside my home and start playing downloaded music on my watch, then head out the door and start my workout. On the current setup, I am finding that when I start my music through the watch and head out, the music is still coming from the iPhone (based on the watch icons instead of the watch), and even though I have cellular, everything stops coming through my headphones. And it then takes some weird sorting out to get connected again. Not sure why it won't come from the watch like I am trying to do. I was hoping the cellular option would allow me new flexibility on what I can listen to on my runs, but I am just running into some different issues that makes things feel clunky. It's becoming pretty frustrating and I don't really think doing device restarts is a long-term solution that I am interested in.

Hell yeah, convinced my boss to let me upgrade my shitty Intel 2019 MBP for a 14 inch M3 with 18GB of RAM.

anyone like their HomePod(s)? I've had a few Sonos for about 4 years now, but they're no longer connecting and I've had to factory reset them like once a month for the past year. Considering getting a HomePod for my living room, and then a bunch of minis for around the house. I never use Siri, but have heard it's garbage on HomePod. Is connectivity ever an issue or will I face similar problems?

  6. Marco on ATP recently went from HomePods to the new Sonos Eras and that would be what I'd do. HomePods ... are basically DOA right now imo. (I'd also contact sonos support, they've been super helpful and may even help you fix the current ones)

Yeah, if you can get a good deal on them maybe consider it but they are underpowered for any coming AI and Siri improvements so I don't expect much.

I don’t see myself leaving Sonos anytime soon, the Move is my favorite speaker ever and I’ve just kept buying more from there

I’ve got the Arc + Sub + Play 1 Surround set up on my tv and I love it. Era 100 in the Kitchen and a Roam to move between my shower and office. Thankfully been super consistent for me! If you haven’t, I’d try contacting them as 4 years doesn’t seem that old!

I’ve been using Sonos for almost ten years now. Got a HomePod mini for my office at work since it’s quick and easy but wouldn’t consider a HomePod for anything more than that. Sonos is awesome.

  11. I have two regular HomePods and two Minis around the house. They do everything I need them to and have been solid and reliable. I don't use them for my main speakers in the living room, but with Airplay and the Apple TV, I can still play music in sync on the TV and the HomePods in various rooms. I don't use Siri with them, which probably helps keep my impression positive, but I have no plans to change anytime soon.

I think the sound quality on my homepod minis are good (I use them in different rooms, didn’t notice a significant improvement using them as TV speakers) but I’ve overall been disappointed with the experience. Siri is incredibly sloppy, almost unusable if the TV is on or if you’re more than 5-7 feet away, and the experience managing two of them is clunky. If I ask Siri something on my phone or homepod in the bedroom, she sometimes responds in the living room. I’m also getting Siri fatigue - kinda annoying to say Siri and 4-5 devices in the room also start listening/pausing music/siri pops up/etc.

Is this true? Is Apple really to blame for Spotify being bad?

  14. Meh. It’s really they just want to recoup that margin % they have to give Apple.

Yep, it's the same old same old from Spotify. Yes, there have been some times when Apple did make things difficult for Spotify but Spotify is also notoriously slow to update their features to align with iOS or never even adopt them like AirPlay 2.

I don't understand how this can be the biggest day for the iPad since it was originally announced. The 2018 Pro announcement still seems like it's in 2nd place. This is a pretty basic redesign and spec bump of the Pro with a better keyboard. I was really drinking the koolaid that this thing was going to run MacOS if using the Keyboard.

I can't get excited about iPad updates these days. I have a M1 Pro and it's basically worthless for any real tasks.

I was going to get a new iPad but I really wanted a lighter and more portable Magic Keyboard, which is only available with the ridiculously over spec’d (for my needs) iPad Pro, so now I’m thinking I probably just do nothing

The funny thing is that the stupidly heavy Magic Keyboard has actually driven me back to using a MacBook Air for my on the go needs, although it’s an imperfect solution for me. Is it any wonder the iPad line is failing?

the iPad has been destroyed by insufferable tech bros that are trying to shoehorn it into being a Mac by all means necessary.

yes I am looking at you, Frederico.

$1,000.00 is a lot to spend on a piece of tech, yes, but we also kinda need to stop pretending that these aren't luxury tech items. nobody *needs* an ipad lol

i'm more annoyed by airpod max's costing $600 than i am an ipad costing $1000
