maybe I'm missing it in my settings but I don't see it? running the Golden Master and I see that you need the M9 chip in order for it to work....

 

Also the Jet Black is only available in 128gb and above.

 

I'm on the 6s, maybe that's why. But I'm on iOS 10.0.1 through the developer beta, and I don't think there is an option to toggle the "lift to wake". It's annoying, but I also think it's enabled by default and you can't turn it off.

yeah it's not there for me on the 6. wish it was because I like the idea of that feature.

I use a DodoCase wallet, so essentially no case. Looks like the scratches and smudging on the Jet Black would murder my soul.

 

It's an iOS 10 feature, however it requires the M9 motion coprocessor, which is only available in the SE, 6s and 6s plus. Will also be supported in the 7 and 7 plus as well.

The 6 and 6 plus had the M8 motion coprocessor.

 

Torn between getting the 7+ and waiting until next year for the 10 year anniversary redesign. My 6 is doing okay, but those dual cameras hnnnnng.

At the very least I'm getting the Nike + watch next month.

 

So is the Nike+ watch a running/athletic specific watch or is it no different than any other series two other than Nike branding? I couldn't figure out if this was the watch version of the U2 iPod

The sports band it comes with is different, I haven't seen it available as a standalone purchase, but I'm sure they will be available and in different color combinations on or shortly after release.

The Nike+ watch has exclusive faces that show complications linked to your NRC account app. They also talked about the watch tapping your wrist for specific notifications like "Are we Running Today?" and "2 miles to catch Liz!" I'm not sure if those notifications are exclusive to the Nike+ watch or if it will show on all the watches that have the NRC app.

I run often and most of my friends and family are on NRC, we have challenges almost every month, so the watch is perfect for me. Especially with GPS now. Gonna try and sell my Apple Watch Sport on ebay soon

 

Isn't that just an app or is it a special specific to that watch app? I'm also curious how the gps is? Is it actual gps or is it like cellphone gps? Curious how garmin reacts to this. I love my watch and got it about 18 months ago so I'm not close to ditching it.

 

Just to confirm -- I assume there isn't a Bluetooth version of these?

 

I'm not sure if the notifications are specific to the watch or are part of the app, but the watch faces and the complications are specific to the Nike+ watch only.

I'm not sure the difference in GPS, but it's supposed to be nearly instant in getting your location and accurate to track location and pace and the Activities app will feature your route now, too.

Yep! It's been hard for me to want to buy nicer earbuds since I have these, an on-ear pair, and over-ear pair. That's plenty of options for me haha.

 

Probably going with regular black due to scratches/fingerprints.

 

Only thing that bugs me a bit about the loss the 3.5 is the idea that my headphones are now something I have to worry about dying. I spend a ton of time on trains and that'd be a serious drag. But, the dongle thing provides a safety net as long as I keep my usual headphones in my bag, which isn't a big deal. Onward and upward.

Stoked to bring the word "dongle" to the forefront of my lexicon.

 

If I had a dollar for every time the normal apple earbuds fell out of my ears (before I switched to a over-ear bluetooth headset) while working out, I would have ALL of the dollars. I now all of the dollars are going to go to Apple, when the airpods come out. Be very wary of running near storm drains..

 

On an iPhone 6, so I can upgrade to the 7 if I choose. Last time I upgraded was from a 4 lol, so I don't feel like I have to pull the trigger. I have some thinking to do there. I will be getting the pods, the Nike watch, and a new Macbook. Apple will be getting too much money from me.

 

Worrying about the battery sucks, but I did read on the product page for the AirPods that they get a 3 hour listening time charge in just 15 minutes with the case. Not too bad at all.

 

The battery life on the airpods seems reasonable to me. I am not sure there are many cases where you need more than 5 hours + the 25 hours from the charger in one go. If you know you will be, than you probably are already bringing a chorded pair with you. Plus, I like to give my ears a break, so putting them on the charger at work or home where they can be plugged in is not an issue. Airplanes, going on runs/walks, and cleaning around the house is where these seem like a win for me.

 

I guess having a Sprint employee account makes me ineligible for the iUP? :(

 

Anybody know why lyrics aren't available in Apple Music on iOS 10? Thought they'd make a last minute appearance with the GM, but nope. Guessing maybe a liscencing issue.
