For those who use a monitor with their MBP, what would you recommend? Wanting to stay under $800. Will mostly use it for design.

Also, American Apple stores are only offering me $50 trade-in for my 2019 MBP 13"

The Taiwan Apple Store is offering 15500 ($450 USD).

Any idea as to why the trade-in is much more? Not complaining but I find it to be odd.

  2. that can't be right unless they clocked it for having some sort of damage or defect

a 2019 MBP in good condition should still get you between 300 and 400

The last time I ran the serial number through the store I was offered $50 gift card. I’ll try it again and see if I possibly put something wrong.

The MBP itself is in great condition. I always keep it in a bag.

I coulda swore that when I first updated, the now playing on the lock screen included the album art and it looked beautiful. Shortly after, it’s turned to the current display at the bottom of the Lock Screen.

am i imagining that? Does adding widgets to the lock screen change the now plying view?

Y’all. I broke my longstanding rules of a) getting a red phone and b) not getting a big phone and caved for a deep purple 14 pro. I wish the purple was more purple but my god it looks good. The Verizon trade in discount was the deciding factor.

Well, it’s been a week now with the Max and I love it. Glad I made the decision to go bigger as the normal Pro just seems small now. It fits nicely in my jackets and the extra weight isn’t noticeable.

Summer will be a different case though haha.

Does anyone with a HomePod Mini know if there’s a way to see timers on your phone? I often set kitchen timers with Hey Siri, and since getting my HomePod they all go to there instead of my phone/watch and there’s no way to check how much time is left. Even asking Siri how long goes back to my phone, and it answers that there’s no timers set.

I asked this in the technology thread as well but this thread gets way more traffic and I figure some of ya'll have a mesh network.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a wifi mesh system? I've been looking at the Eero 6 and the Nighthawk MK63S. I need a 3 pack of whatever system I get with at least 1 ethernet port on each router/satellite.

From what I gather Eero doesn't have a web gui to manage your network which is kind of almost a dealbreaker but the price is nice lol. Open to other suggestions as well those are just the ones I've looked at the most

  16. We just got the TPLINK earlier this year and they’ve been flawless.

  17. Oh it’s on sale today for $190. We bought it when it was $280 and it was worth it.

Can you separate the 2.4ghz & 5ghz band on 2 different SSID’s? I’ve been seeing a lot of mesh networks combine the two and a lot of devices that can only run on 2.4ghz have problems on these “combo” bands

  19. it's all one but it does both 2.4 and 5 GHz.

I’m consistently torn between Apple Music and Spotify. Both have things that frustrate the hell out of me. I don’t care for hi-fi audio as I don’t have the ears and/or the equipment to take advantage of it. However, I’m curious at what Library Pro, Playlist Pro and Audio Insights are. $19.99, presumably £19.99, is steep though. Even if they do bring Apple Music like capabilities to upload your own music and have a Last.fm like insights.

I wish Apple Music would automatically manage music downloads like it does on the watch. I want to say, here’s 20GB of space, you know what I listen to fill it.

I was recently on a plane and somehow all I had downloaded was Letters by Butch Walker.

I listen to both Apple Music and Spotify primarily through Sonos and struggle to hear much of a difference. AM is far better for lyrics, consistent UI and library management. Other than that Spotify beats it on most other parts for me, personally. Collaborative playlists, recommendations, genre filters, liked songs even if they aren’t in your library, duo plan, connect etc. I wish Apple Music beat it for me as everything I own is Apple and I love that I can add my own music to my library.

  25. Everything people like in Spotify is a thing I’d literally never used wrapped in a UI I hate.
