    again...this isn't really a solution.

I'm not planning on it. Just pointing out that if you need to make huge third party purchases to be able to do something as simple as charging your phone while using it, something is wrong.

  4. This Is How Apple’s New Cord-Free AirPods Work
Accelerometers, optical sensors, microphones, and antennas are packed inside the tiny AirPods. When your jaw is moving, the AirPods will optimize the microphones for a phone call by isolating the voice audio. When you remove a bud out of your ears, it’ll pause your audio. When you wear two buds, it’ll deliver audio in stereo, and when you wear one, it’ll play audio in mono. To control music or make calls, simply double tap the AirPods to enable Siri. There are virtually no buttons or switches on the device themselves.

The AirPods include Apple’s first wireless chip, the W1, which was designed to optimize audio performance and battery life over a wireless connection. Both Bluetooth and Apple’s own proprietary technology are used to connect the AirPods instantly to devices. The case connects with iCloud, which helps users switch seamlessly between different iOS devices.

Not being able to charge your phone while you listen to music is somewhat ridiculous but at the same time, MOST people are listening to music on their phone while commuting.

    It is pretty inconvenient though.

Never told anyone to buy a new car and new stereo with USB support isn't exactly expensive so I have no idea what you're talking about.

  7. Why are any of you listening to headphones in the car anyway? That's dangerous.

I'm thinking AUX to AUX? I do that on a daily basis.

No one is listening to headphones in the car. They're using adapters that utilize the headphone jack.

Correction, I charge my phone while using aux to aux when driving. So if I did upgrade to the 7, I'd need that Y shaped dongle if there even is such a thing to allow charging. Then again, does the lightning port even allow for dual input like that in the first place?

  11. Grab a bluetooth headphone jack adapter then, they're like 5-10 bucks.

so it's a male aux with a bluetooth receiver? Shit, I could use that.

How would this solve the problem of charging and using the audio simultaneously? It still requires a headphone jack and a car that has bluetooth, doesn't it?

    No.

The car needs to have an AUX port, you then buy the male AUX to bluetooth adapter, then turn on your phone's bluetooth, sync it up and plug in your charger.

  16. You plug the device into your car's aux port. Bluetooth to that. Charge your phone the way you always do via lightning.

Ah ok I think I was assuming you were using the adapter the other way (plugging it into your car and syncing your phone to that).

I guess it could be used both ways like this? Or am I completely wrong?

  18. That is what you're doing.

Oh gotcha. I was thinking of it backwards. I dunno, my car doesn't even have an aux port. I use a cassette adapter and people i know use those crappy cigarrette lighter things that transmit over an FM station, so this isn't necessarily gonna resolve my issue anyway hah.

Oh got it. Threw me off because you said your car doesn't have an AUX port.

  21. I don't use one. I would have if it did.
