iPadOS is going to drop with a .1 update right away (so 16.1) and it’ll probably drop the same day as iOS 16.1

 

Word online is that Apple won’t bother with an October event and instead do a press release. Makes sense given any new MacBooks will just be a spec M2 bump.

 

The live activities thing for sports will be cool if it expands to other sports apps (theScore here in Canada is the best), automatically displays scores from your favorite teams without having to select them individually (and cycles through them), and updates/refreshes quickly

Has that app gotten better? I tried it a few years ago and it was very delayed, filled with ads, no widgets, and couldn’t reliably send score notifications.

 

Hmm, I’ve been using it for years and never had any issues with delays or notifications. Always been very reliable for me. Interesting.

There are ads, but I don’t find them intrusive.

Widgets are decent.

 

I’ll check it out again. I have never found a great sports score app.

 

It’s not perfect by any means, there’s things I wish were different, but it’s my favorite I’ve found.

I agree. I hope someone implements live activities for sports scores and it just works.

AirPods Pro 2 acquired! My local Target had them in stock and I had a couple gift cards so I couldn't not.

Also my iPhone 14 Pro (Space Black) on its way and should be here by this evening, so I'm going to wait until I get that setup to connect these.

 

Got my AirPods 2 in the mail finally, very happy with them (and it’s nice to have a case that actually holds charge haha)

 

I tried the Apple Watch Ultra on yesterday and it looked a little *too good* on me.

Fuck.

 

Have to say that I'm loving my Series 8. Being able to track workouts and total calories more accurately each day is massive for me. Also (as expected) it's awesome for getting notifications without having to check my phone.

I'm wondering how I lived without it at this point.

Got my Ocean band for the Ultra. I like it, and it feels better to me than the regular silicone band ever has. It’s kind of funny how over-the-top the packaging for these Ultra bands is.

 

My Ultra wasn’t supposed to ship until the 30th. Now it’s arriving tomorrow

 

My 14 Pro Max went from late Oct 17-24th to Oct 5th. We’ll see what happens.

Apple wireless charging fans, I'm in the lookout for a wireless charger that does the 3-in-1 that's also portable for holidays. I've narrowed it down to these two but if anyone recommends anything better I'm open to suggests.

Is it just me or does the Now Playing being at the bottom of the lock screen cause anyone else to accidentally scroll through a song/podcast CONSTANTLY when swiping to open

 

I've had the Nomad Base Station Apple Watch Edition for 5 years now and absolutely love it. I also got their Base One MagSafe charger recently and really like that too.
