damn that is nice! I was thinking of trading my 12 in, but I might use it to trade in for a new MacBook Air instead in a month or so

  3. heh heh sorry @Jason Tate but I think Ben makes a good point

What this means is that in real terms Apple’s products actually got cheaper. Apple did, to be sure, raises prices around the world, but this is better explained by the fact the company runs on the dollar, which is the strongest in years; to put it another way, those foreign prices are derived from the U.S. price, and that price stayed the same, which means the price is lower.

This doesn’t make much sense for the product company Apple has always been thought to be, and doesn’t fully align with the approach I laid out in Apple’s Middle Age. It does, though, make all kinds of sense for a services company, which is focused first-and-foremost on increasing its install base. Indeed, this is the missing piece from that Update I wrote about Apple’s changing metrics. To measure its business based on users, not products, was to measure like a services company; to lower the prices of the products that lead to services revenue is to price like one.

  4. Hahah, I read that this morning, definitely interesting and the position of safety as a service I think is smart. Well, until there's a news story about how someone would have been saved by a service they didn't/forgot to pay for on their device or something and the PR team gets whacked.

  5. I must've glazed over during the keynote but what safety features do we need to pay for? Is it the satellite thing?

Oh shit, this is really tempting. Verizon will give me $800 for my 12 mini, which means I'm paying $5.55/month for a 14 Pro . . .

Glad you pointed it out, because I was going to hold off. Just pulled the trigger on a 256 Pro in Deep Purple.

Haha, I hope not! I’ve been so accustomed to the Pro size for years but with the Dynamic Island feature the bigger real estate made a lot of sense.

Also I can’t complain about having a bigger battery.

I pre-ordered the pro on my upgrade plan with Apple. Not gonna be able to collect from store until Monday 19th.

Per above, i think the FX rate has put the price up for me £6 per month when i have ordered same spec. Plus having to buy a new case. My partner can get hers on the Friday before me. Might see if the Dynamic Island feature is worth the upgrade. If its not, might just can the upgrade and pay off my iphone 13 pro and see if the 15 pulls me back in.

The Ink leather case is definitely more blue than purple in real life. Sad.

ive never done a trade in but the verizon site is saying they'll give me $800 off for my 11 pro.

Does anyone have experience with this before? Is that a legit quote? Their trade in calculator only says its worth $223. I don't wanna pre order this shit thinking i'm paying $200 and end up getting stuck with a $800 charge

there's no asterisk or "up to" or anything on the $800 off thing though so i'm confused

I wouldn't be too surprised, Verizon seems to often have great trade in deals. A month or two ago, my buddy got a 13 pro for $300 after trading in a pretty dated Galaxy s20

I think this is my plan except with a 13 mini

  17. The 800 from Verizon told me I needed to be in their 5g plan or something. I’m very confused.

  18. i've done this the last few years on verizon. it's legit. unless you have something wrong with your battery or the phone doesn't function correctly, they'll give you what they quoted. When you go to upgrade, you pick the phone on your line you're trading in and then a day or two after you get the new phone in, you'll get a box to put your old phone in, you'll need to disable fine my phone and wipe the phone and then ship the box to Verizon and then the $800 will show as a monthly credit on your account for the phone for the term of the lease.

Yeah you also need to be on a 5G Unlimited plan. If you are already there's nothing to change, but if you're not then you'll need to switch.

Holy shit that's an expensive watch haha

Do they make anything in the $300 range? My Samsung watch was only $350 brand new. Just curious because I'm probably switching to an iPhone once I pay off my S21.

    I suppose I could Google. I'm lazy.

Is titanium exclusive to the Ultra this year? Wondering if splurging on the stainless steel case is worth it?
