Ventura breaks Safari's ad blocker ability for this site. AppleMusic skips a lot, even w downloaded music.

This is the pain I have chosen to do to myself.

It’s (almost) 6:30 PM and I’m on 48%. Widgets off. Charger disconnected at 7.

I get a little more than this usually but plenty good for a first beta.

  3. That M2 Air looks beautiful and the price seems reasonable but those base specs are a little lower than where I’d want them. It looks like I’d end up paying something closer to $1600 for a configuration that always meets or exceeds my M1 Air, and at that point, why not just go for it and get the the 14” Pro?

The M1 Air remains an insanely good deal for an incredible computer.

Yeah... As with any new product reveal I want it right away, but thinking about it more and how I don't use this thing outside of basic computer stuff and will likely barely use it when I go back state side to my iMac at the end of the year I find myself having restraint at pulling the trigger on "updating" from my M1Air.

I configured an Air out of curiosity last night and everything maxed out (minus the hard drive) is so close to what I paid for my 14inch which's not only more powerful but has a better screen.

It's priced a little high I think which's why they've ultimately kept the M1 version around.

The past couple of weeks I've been noticing that my wake up alarm goes very quiet after like 2 seconds and dim's the display, the off and snooze buttons disappear, and the only way to turn off the alarm is hitting the side button, this will bring the screen back up, but then you have to still turn off the alarm manually as the snooze is still going. I'm not sure if any of that will make sense lol

Anyways, I think I found what the culprit was, there's a setting in FaceID called 'Attention Aware Features' that was turned on, and it says "iPhone will check for attention before dimming the display, expanding a notification when locked, or lowering the volume of some alerts." I don't remember turning this on ever, and this just started happening out of nowhere.

Why would anyone want this turned on?? I've slept through my alarm a few times because of how quiet it goes almost instantly. I'm just wondering who this setting is for lol

Yeah this happened to me a while back and I couldn't figure out why my alarm was so low/turning off. Not the best time to try and figure something like that out as you're just waking up, haha.

Assuming I understand the issue, that happened to me right after iOS 15 came out and I slept through my alarm twice because it went quiet almost immediately. I also concluded it was FaceID eventually but that setting was already off, so I gave up and I’ve been using a physical alarm clock since because I don’t really trust my phone alarm anymore

I'm just so confused as to why it's happening all of a sudden out of nowhere. I haven't done any updates to my phone recently and I certainly didn't ever mess with that setting.

Speaking of apple watches, ever since I got my 13 pro max my watch doesn’t unlock with my phone or vice versa. I got so used to that

  18. Have you checked the setting? It may have been switched off after upgrading.

  22. It happened to me too a few months back. Swore it worked and stopped. Was sad. Finally looked and was like wtf. My guess was it happened during an upgrade.

Sold my 12.9” iPad Pro and ‘downgraded’ to the 11” model - it was just too big and heavy with the Magic Keyboard and Stage Manager is going to be a game changer for me in terms of being able to run with a smaller screen size

interesting tidbit I noticed on the Ventura preview page. Do Apps that you maximize (not full screen) lose their rounded edges? huge if true, because currently it's rather ugly.
