Bought a new leather case like a month ago.

Dropped it last night and fucked up the corner reallllll good. Tore the left corner right off.

Glad I had it on or it woulda screwed up the whole phone. But now I need a new case, again.

 

I bought a Decoded leather case (with MagSafe) and the quality is just impeccable. And it somehow only took two days to get from the Netherlands to my house. I’ve tried the 12 series leather cases from Apple and absolutely hate any of them that are not black because of how bad they patina.

 

I love the patina on leather cases though. To each their own.

 

Yes, I do as well, that’s why I got the Decoded case. I’m borderline obsessed with leather products and the patina they develop. The Apple cases for the 12 series do not patina the same as the older generations did.

 

I misread your post. I thought you didn't like patina, but now I see you meant you don't like the way the Apple cases patina. My bad. Thanks for the recommendation!

 

Don’t have any 11 case colors I like, I also want a lip at the bottom, but will add to my to keep an eye on list.

 

I really wish Bullstrap didn’t have the bull logo on it cause I love that ocean color.

 

I have an Ocean one from them actually (and a Sienna) and it’s a terrific color, and they are top-notch quality. Might seem weird to some, but the smell of their leather cases is so awesome, ha. Definitely understand not wanting their logo on it though.

 

I was very tempted. The logo is what kept me from doing it, but I kinda want it anyway cause that color is awesome.

 

Pulled the trigger on an M1 12.9. Way too over powered for what I’m gonna use it for. Looks real nice though

 

I feel the EXACT same way about Bullstrap I do love the Apple leather cases, mine got really torn up too so I've been caseless till I get a new phone soon. D a n g e r o u s !

I’ve decided Apple Watch is one of those things I’m okay with hanging on to for several years. To be honest, I bang my watch face up against so many objects when I’m out and about that my current one is a perfectly okay, scuffed-up mess. It’s a miracle it hasn’t cracked yet.

 

I'm trying to imagine how they'd do a flat edged watch that wouldn't be a lot more uncomfortable to wear, especially with a larger size.

I’m baffled by it, ha. I bought like five or six saddle brown cases for the earlier models and they were always awesome. This year’s leather cases seem to only get… dirty, rather than patina/age as leather actually should. Maybe they are doing something different due to MagSafe? That’s all I can think of. Hopefully they correct it and go back to whatever they were doing before for future models.

Same here. I am debating on holding off on the new watch though, since the news came that no new health stuff is coming to Series 7 per WSJ. At least when I got the Series 4, I got the bigger screen and the ECG feature. Not sure the new one will be worth it since it sounds like the newer case/screen will be the major update.

If that is the case, I'm going to snag a Series 6 on a deal when retailers are getting rid of current stock. I've really wanted the always-on display and I'm hoping it runs Shortcuts faster than the 4 does. My company gives $300 a year as a reimbursement for health improvement expenses like fitness trackers, gym memberships, etc... I'm going to use it to get $300 off an Apple Watch every few years.

 

I still have my Series 4 and see no reason to upgrade it. I can't believe how well it works.
