this is kind of weird. saying apple is the only one doing exclusives when tidal exists is flat out wrong, so it's not an attack against Apple. and it glazes over what counts as further creative investment with artists like future, khaled, yg, the avalanches, chance, madeintyo and more...if you count an album premiering on beats 1 a plus and being prominently featured in the New page and itunes then maybe some of those count but the investment in the artist he claims is there doesn't seem very apparent to me on a number of apple music exclusives.

maybe theyre coming down the pipeline? drake also seems like an outlier in the apple music universe since he signed on from day 1 and is the single biggest artist that has even participated in the exclusives game, an investment in him isnt the same thing as working intimately with YG on his "FDT" video or directing the "I Got The Keys" video. I dunno about this. Sounds like a cool job to work with all these artists, but a lot of the claims here don't seem to be borne out very much.

Hmm, not sure why this isn't working for me. I have never had issues updating iOS before.

yeah just touching it with your hands could fry that stuff. Get a static bracelet and tie ti to ground or your computer case.

 

I have never once worried about a static bracelet.

I believe there is a method to de-static that doesn't require it but I don't remember it offhand.

 

yeah neither have I. He just mentioned he was worried about it and that's one way to be sure about it.
I've replaced ram and stuff with my bare hands numerous of times.

When I was in college I have fried op amps and transistors by not being grounded though lol. whops.

 

Grounded means just touching a metal surface before you touch the computer right? Jason sent me a wikihow on all this stuff. It's a bit overwhelming but I think i'll be good. Just got the stuff in the mail today. Gotta wait till after work to install it. Cant wait.

 

Installed the iOS 10 beta yesterday, mostly liking it so far. New lock screen is nice, messages updates are great, and I'm about 50/50 on Music--love the "Recently Played" and "Heavy Rotation" sections (shout out Rdio) but the large UI is frustrating and feels like a huge waste of screen real estate on the 6S.

 

Also, anyone trying out Castro for podcasts?

Welp. Just installed everything. Didnt properly install the bottom card of RAM and it got stuck and I didnt feel like breaking anything so im still workin with 4 gigs of ram. But the hard drive is workin great. Just gonna take it to the genius bar to see if they will get the memory to fit in properly I guess.

 

Okay so here's a question I hope someone can help me with:

My new work email address is powered through Exchange. I can't get it set up with my iPhone's mail app. When I try to add it as an Exchange account, it says "unable to verify account information." I can't set it up as "other" with IMAP/POP because that information is listed as "unavailable" when I log into my email account from my computer and try to view it. Here's where it gets odd - I downloaded a random free mail app from the app store called Cloud Magic and if I set up my work email with that it works with no issues. I just set it up as an Exchange account and it works. This same thing happened with another email account I had a few years ago. It's frustrating because I have my personal email account on one app now and my work one on a different one and I'd really just like to have both on the regular iPhone app.

Anyone have any idea what I can do to get it to work properly?

I'm ready for it, but going through the preview is very intimidating.

 

It's usually early September, during their product announcements.

 

GM version usually gets released the day of the event where they show off their new products, which is rumored to be on September 7th this year. Public release is a week later, so on or around the 14th.

 

Anyone else using the iOS developer previews for iOS 10? They're on Beta 8 and it's pretty similar to the current iOS, with minimal improvements.

 

If you have an iPhone 6s, then I'd say it's a huge step forward from iOS 9 with all of the added 3D Touch capabilities.

 

I have the 6s Plus. The biggest improvement is with the Messages app. Besides that, the Podcasts and iTunes store has changed slightly, but nothing really unique.

The biggest detriment would be when you swipe up from the bottom; it's separated into two pages now instead of just one, which sucks.

I'm a long time Android user that crossed over a few months ago, and I go back and forth from platform to platform. iOS just "works" better, though Android gives you more to do, if that makes sense.

 

I wouldn't give up on this feature while it's in beta, I'd imagine the developers will have access to this, and we will see some cool implementation with it in the future.
