They actually tend to obsolete older models, ha. For sure the iPhone 11 Pro will only be offered at third party retailers once the 12 Pro models go on sale, so you’d want to snag one quick. They will likely be discounted at those retailers though.

 

Yeah, it’ll come with the cable, just not brick. That’s what they did with the Apple Watch S6.

One more question. The extension of the Apple+ trial from November to February that was just announced - that doesn't mean that all free trials end in February, right? Just the people who bought a phone November 2019? And I should still get a full free year with a new iPhone?

 

If they are still doing that deal when you go to purchase, then I would absolutely think you’d get the full year from that. The extension is just for those folks who bought on launch day last year, and shouldn’t effect anyone who buys now.

 

I want the best camera, but i don't want a 6.7" phone so I might just say fuck it and go with the mini now

Looking for podcast app recs. I was a longtime Overcast user, then switched about to Apple Podcasts about a year ago as I was finding Overcast to be buggy in apple CarPlay. I'm getting tired of the Apple podcast app and am wanting to switch to something different. I'm thinking of a return to Overcast but curious if anyone uses another app they would recommend other than Overcast?

I’ve used Pocket Casts for years. Love it. Works great with CarPlay.

 

Overcast is my fav, but both Pocket Casts and Castro are pretty great.

picked up a white solo loop size 8 today and it's really comfortable and honestly perfect.

 

I really, really want the braided solo loop but they’re sold out everywhere :(

 

yeah that's why I settled for the solo loop now and will get the braided one around Christmas/early 2021 when it's more available

 

Yeah the extra large phone having a better camera is such a bummer. The regular Pro is such a good sweet spot with size/form factor, it sucks to have to compromise on that.
That being said I’ll probably just get an 11 Pro this year off eBay or something if I really feel like upgrading my X.

I’m a big Overcast user but I don’t have CarPlay so I can’t speak to that. But some other good apps that I’ve personally used are Castro and Breaker. PocketCasts is also a good one to check out, I just haven’t actually used it.

 

Yeah they’re extending the free trials that were activated last year. As far as with new phones, I haven’t seen anything that says they aren’t still doing it.

I use my laptop so little that I'm only just installing Catalina xD. And damn, 14 GB to install this thing is wild. That took a lot of sorting and deleting since I have a bootcamp partition taking up so much space . I really need to invest in a backup drive to move some things over
